Chapter 20: Beware of Nosebleeds
Seeing both the audience in the livestream and Mozi urging her on, Dai Xiaomei hesitated for a moment before saying, “Should I ask, then?”
“Go ahead and ask! It’s not like I have his contact info,” Mozi continued to egg her on from the side.
At this point, the entire stream chat was filled with messages encouraging Dai Xiaomei to visit Jiang Yun’s home.
Seeing this, Dai Xiaomei took out her phone and sent a message to Jiang Yun.
“Brother Yun, may I come visit your new place?”
On the other end, Jiang Yun, who was working out, saw her message. He put down his equipment, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and replied, “Of course.”
To Jiang Yun, this was no big deal—nothing to fuss about.
Seeing Jiang Yun’s reply, Dai Xiaomei’s face lit up with joy. She waved her phone at Mozi. “Brother Yun said yes.”
Ding—
Just then, Jiang Yun sent another message: his apartment number.
Seeing this, Dai Xiaomei addressed the livestream, “Alright, since you’re all so curious whether Brother Yun’s place is abstract or not, I’ll take you to see for yourselves.”
With that, she began gathering her things.
Mozi hurried after her.
The two took the elevator up to the 18th floor, found Jiang Yun’s door, and rang the bell.
A minute later, the door opened, and Jiang Yun appeared before them.
However, having just finished his workout, Jiang Yun was clad only in a simple white tank top. Sweat had soaked through most of the fabric, and his muscular physique was partially revealed.
The sight left both Dai Xiaomei and Mozi momentarily stunned.
Earlier, wanting the audience to see Jiang Yun’s house as soon as possible, Dai Xiaomei had kept her camera pointed at the door.
The moment Jiang Yun opened the door, the livestream chat exploded.
“Holy crap, Brother Yun’s body is insane!”
“Damn, those muscles—I’m a man and I’m getting excited.”
“Wow, Brother Yun’s pecs are bigger than some women’s!”
“Upstairs, what kind of pecs are you talking about exactly?”
“My god, his body puts most models to shame!”
“…”
After a brief daze, Dai Xiaomei quickly came to her senses and turned the camera back to herself and Mozi—she’d already noticed a warning message from the moderators. Clearly, Jiang Yun’s appearance had skirted the rules.
At this moment, Jiang Yun spoke apologetically, “Sorry, I was just working out. Even after wiping off, I’m still sweating like this. My apologies.”
He spoke the truth—it wasn’t intentional. He’d wiped off before putting on the tank top, but still ended up drenched.
Before Dai Xiaomei could reply, Mozi grinned mischievously and said, “Why would I mind? It’s not my stream, after all.”
Jiang Yun glanced at Mozi. As a well-known rascal in the streaming world, he was certainly familiar with her reputation.
Seeing her in person today, she truly lived up to her name—her very first words made her sound anything but proper.
He stepped aside and invited Dai Xiaomei and Mozi in.
“Let’s talk inside.”
Mozi didn’t hesitate, immediately changing her shoes and walking in, leaving a bewildered Dai Xiaomei at the door.
Huh???
Wait, how come Mozi seems more familiar with Brother Yun than I am? Didn’t they just meet for the first time?
Dai Xiaomei’s confused expression was clearly visible to the audience.
“Hahaha, the old lady’s stunned—this is the power of Mozi!”
“I think the old lady’s just dazed by Brother Yun’s body.”
“Careful, old lady—nosebleed warning!”
“Don’t get a nosebleed again~”
“Keep it together, old lady! There are so many viewers. If you get a nosebleed again, it’ll be embarrassing~”
“…”
Years ago, Dai Xiaomei had gotten a nosebleed on stream while watching a beautiful woman, and her audience had never let her forget it.
Now, seeing her dumbfounded by Jiang Yun’s physique, the chat couldn’t help but bring up the old story again.
Dai Xiaomei rolled her eyes at the barrage of messages. “You’re underestimating me. As if I’d get a nosebleed over a man!”
With that, she walked into Jiang Yun’s home.
“Honestly, there’s not much to see here. It’s probably similar to your places. That’s the living room, that’s the kitchen, and over here…”
As Jiang Yun spoke, he led Dai Xiaomei and Mozi on a tour of his newly familiar home.
He felt a bit relieved—they’d arrived just half an hour earlier, and he wouldn’t have been able to introduce anything, as he was still figuring out the place himself.
Soon, Dai Xiaomei and Mozi had seen the entire home.
Though Jiang Yun’s place was much more luxurious and spacious than Mozi’s, there was nothing especially striking about it, which left the viewers a little disappointed.
“Huh, I thought there’d be a lot of abstract stuff in Brother Yun’s place.”
“What abstract stuff? A dragon painting or something?”
“Honestly, it’d be weirder if a bachelor like Brother Yun had a dragon painting in his house.”
“To be fair, the interior’s interesting—looks like he didn’t bother with a guest bedroom.”
“Feels like Brother Yun’s place is decorated as though he has no friends or relatives.”
“…”
Curious, Dai Xiaomei asked, “Brother Yun, why’s there no guest room? Don’t you have friends or family who might stay over?”
Jiang Yun shrugged. “It’s fine. I don’t have friends, and I’m an orphan—no relatives. So it doesn’t really matter.”
Though he’d bought the apartment as-is, the decor suited him perfectly, as if he’d designed it himself, so his explanation made sense.
But Dai Xiaomei was stunned by his answer.
Huh???
“You’re an orphan, Brother Yun?”
“Yeah, is there a problem?” Jiang Yun nodded, puzzled by her reaction.
Dai Xiaomei gestured, unsure how to voice her thoughts.
“Um… it’s just…” She wanted to ask how, as an orphan, he could afford such a place at his age.
After all, he’d only recently begun to gain some popularity as a streamer. It was hard to believe someone could make millions overnight.
The audience, too, picked up on this and began voicing their doubts.
“Wait, if Brother Yun’s an orphan, how did he afford this place?”
“I remember him saying it cost less than twenty million. Is that something the average person can buy?”
“Even winning the lottery wouldn’t get you a place like that. How could an orphan afford it?”
“If I’m not mistaken, Brother Yun also has an Audi worth over a million. Is that what an orphan can own?”
“…”
