Chapter 002: The Alluring Aunt Wen

That evening, Ye Jianjun stayed at Ye Jianming's home for dinner. The atmosphere was lively, filled with laughter and conversation. Despite his military-sounding name, Ye Jianjun was a scholar at heart, though he held a keen interest in the military. "Xiaofeng, you've fired a gun in the army, haven't you?"

"I've fired a few shots," Ye Feng replied vaguely. He had no intention of revealing all the details of his time in the military. Otherwise, he might end up back before a military tribunal—something clearly prohibited under the confidentiality agreement he’d signed before his discharge.

Ye Jianjun, hearing Ye Feng’s nonchalant answer, figured that being a soldier was probably just as simple as playing around with guns. Still, there was no denying Xiaofeng's abilities. This young man seemed to have grown quite capable!

After the family had finished their meal and were settling in for some casual conversation, footsteps sounded from outside. Ye Jianming opened the door to find Wen Biyun, the proprietress of the Venus Grand Hotel. Ten years earlier, she and her husband had come to You County in search of opportunity. Riding the wave of reform and using a few connections, they had opened a small inn, which gradually grew into the only three-star hotel in the county.

After her husband's passing, Wen Biyun shouldered the burden of running the hotel alone. Fortunately, she possessed remarkable management skills, and the business flourished further, aided in no small part by the support of her late husband’s friends, such as Ye Jianming.

“Dad, who is it?” Ye Feng thought another guest had arrived. When he stepped out and saw Aunt Wen, he was struck by a familiar warmth. “Aunt Wen, please come in!”

Since childhood, Ye Feng had always called her Aunt Wen. She stood at the door, seemingly unchanged by the years, her refined beauty and delicate, fair skin as captivating as ever. Dressed in a black short-sleeved dress that accentuated her mature curves, her allure was undeniable. Ye Feng couldn’t help but feel a stir of forbidden desire rise within him.

Just as he had in his youth, Ye Feng blushed in Aunt Wen’s presence, charmed by her graceful beauty. Wen Biyun, too, felt a strange flutter in her heart as she drew near him. The scent of his youthful masculinity made her nervous, her heartbeat quickening uncontrollably.

“Ye Feng, you’re not going back this time, are you?” Wen Biyun sat down, her gaze gentle as she looked at him. She was still as enchanting as ever, her figure graceful, her curves proudly displayed, as if beckoning to Ye Feng.

“No, Aunt Wen. I’ve returned to civilian life now, but I haven’t found a job yet.” Ye Feng was not one to rely on his family. He wanted to make his own way, though it was proving difficult to find suitable work given his background.

“I see. Since you’ve served in the army, how about working as the security manager at my hotel? Would that interest you?” Wen Biyun glanced at Ye Jianming as she spoke, her feelings for this nephew complex and hard to put into words.

“That’s up to Ye Feng. If he joins the hotel, I hope you’ll look after him,” Ye Jianming said with a smile. He thought highly of Wen Biyun and believed Xiaofeng would do well under her guidance. After all, since he was a boy, Xiaofeng had always been fond of his Aunt Wen.

“Thank you, Aunt Wen, but as a newcomer, I don’t think I should start as a manager. I’d rather work my way up from the bottom. That way, I can gain experience and earn everyone’s respect,” Ye Feng replied with a smile.

“My, my, who would have thought? Our Xiaofeng has only been away a few years, but now he speaks so sensibly and with such confidence,” Wen Biyun said, her eyes sparkling with delight. This silly boy had truly surprised her. When he left, he was just a naive child. Now, not only was he strong and handsome, but he also spoke with maturity. Maturity, after all, is often the most alluring trait, whether in women or men.

Wen Biyun discussed a few matters with Ye Jianming before leaving. As she departed, she reminded Ye Feng to wake up early the next morning, so she could take him to the hotel and help him get familiar with the place. Ye Feng readily agreed.

The next morning after breakfast, Wen Biyun arrived to take Ye Feng to the hotel. Ye Feng was about six feet tall, and Wen Biyun, in her high-heeled sandals, stood nearly eye to eye with him. Together, they made a striking pair—handsome man and beautiful woman—drawing envious looks from all who saw them.

As they walked down the street, Ye Feng noticed many men casting him murderous glances. If looks could kill, he’d have died a thousand deaths. Some men seethed with jealousy—how could this kid, who wasn’t even as handsome as they were, walk side by side with such a stunning woman? Damn it, it was infuriating.

The hotel wasn’t far from Ye Feng’s home. Walking shoulder to shoulder with Wen Biyun, Ye Feng was intoxicated by the subtle fragrance she wore—a mature woman’s scent that made his blood race and his mind fill with dangerous thoughts. He kept his head down, not daring to meet her gaze.

Wen Biyun glanced at Ye Feng, noting his flushed cheeks and lowered eyes. She couldn’t help but smile, “What’s the matter? When did you become so shy?”

“I’m not shy!” Ye Feng denied quickly, though he had to admit that in front of Aunt Wen, his face always seemed to burn.

“I heard that soldiers are supposed to be brave. Who would have thought you’d be even shyer than when you were a boy!” Wen Biyun teased gently, her heart secretly delighted to see her silly nephew so flustered.

At her remark, Ye Feng looked up, gazing at her mesmerizingly, just as he had done as a child. This time, it was Wen Biyun whose cheeks flushed pink. Her face glowed with warmth and a gentle smile, a sight so enchanting it could make one’s nose bleed.

“What are you staring at?” Realizing Ye Feng’s eyes were fixed on her, Wen Biyun’s face grew even redder. This silly boy, staring so intently in broad daylight—how embarrassing!

“I wasn’t looking!” Ye Feng immediately lowered his head, not daring to look at her again. Aunt Wen was as alluring as ever. To have such a wife in life—what more could a man want?

“Hmph, you were clearly staring and now you won’t admit it. Aunt Wen is getting old; there’s nothing to look at anymore,” Wen Biyun said softly. In truth, she felt a secret pride when she noticed Ye Feng’s furtive glances, though she was too bashful to admit it.

“Who says so? Aunt Wen is still as young and beautiful as ever. If anyone dares say you’re old, I’ll have words with them!” Ye Feng declared with sudden fervor. Hearing this, Wen Biyun burst into laughter, her beauty dazzling and irresistible. Ye Feng stared in awe—Aunt Wen was simply too tempting. Surely, this was a dangerous invitation.
