Chapter 043: Hua Qiang’s Countermove
Chapter 43: Hua Qiang’s Next Move
With a wave of Hua Qiang’s hand, the men who had been aiming their guns at him suddenly turned their weapons toward Huang Wei, Ye Feng, Chen Hao, and Zuo Huan. Both Chen Hao and Zuo Huan were stunned—what was happening here? These were their own subordinates, yet now the muzzles were pointed at their chests.
“Hu Chunlin, you bastard, what the hell do you think you’re doing!” Chen Hao exploded with rage, cursing loudly. Hu Chunlin had always been his most trusted lieutenant, and he’d even planned to promote him to deputy hall master. Now, Hu Chunlin dared to turn a gun on his own boss!
Hu Chunlin smiled coldly at Chen Hao as he slowly removed Chen Hao’s pistol. “Sorry, Hall Master. As they say, a wise bird chooses the right tree, a worthy minister the right lord. I’m simply following a new master now. Don’t blame me—after all, you’ve always been too self-assured.”
“You—Xu Shan!” Across the room, Zuo Huan’s face flushed with fury. Xu Shan was his most reliable right-hand man, already promoted to deputy hall master and in charge of all hall affairs. Yet here he was, aiming a gun at his own master. A cold worry crept into Zuo Huan’s heart.
Xu Shan grinned smugly. “Don’t worry, Hall Master, I know what you’re thinking. Your trusted men have already been sent out on errands by me. As for whether they’ll encounter any trouble, who knows? But you—you’re definitely in trouble now!” He seemed utterly pleased with himself. Brother Hua Qiang’s plan was flawless, he thought gleefully.
“You!” Zuo Huan glared at Xu Shan. He had always delegated power to his brothers, rarely concerning himself with such details, and had never cared much for fame or fortune. “Why are you doing this? I’ve never treated you poorly!”
“It’s simple. I want your position as hall master, not deputy.” Xu Shan’s greedy gaze locked onto Zuo Huan as if Zuo Huan had wronged him personally. A smug smile crept onto his face. “But soon enough, I’ll be the Xuanwu Hall Master, and you, Zuo Huan, will be joining the King of Hell. Ha!”
“Auntie?” Huang Wei could hardly believe her eyes. Was this the aunt who had doted on her since childhood? Now she was pointing a gun at her own niece, and from her expression, she seemed ready to kill.
Yu Xiaoyu smiled, but her smile was icy cold. “Wei’er, I’m sorry. You should never have tried to seize the sect leader’s position. I only hoped you would remain innocent forever, but now you’re grown, and I can no longer tolerate you.”
Huang Wei was utterly stunned. Was this really the aunt she’d known since childhood, the one who had cared for her as she grew up? Her mind felt as though it would split apart. All the evidence had pointed to her second uncle, and she’d thought it was all settled, but she never imagined her aunt was involved as well. Now the situation had become far more complicated.
“Auntie, how could you do this? What about my father? I’ve always treated you well since I was a child. How could you help the villain now?” Huang Wei’s eyes were bloodshot as she stared at Yu Xiaoyu’s beautiful face. Yu Xiaoyu, in fact, was quite good looking.
Yu Xiaoyu snorted, saying nothing, just kept her gun trained on Huang Wei. Meanwhile, Ye Feng was being held at gunpoint by Yu Xiaoyu’s men, and Chen Hao was cursing Hua Qiang for his betrayal, but Hua Qiang just looked indifferent.
“Go ahead and curse,” Hua Qiang said with a grin. “I want to see how long you can keep acting tough. Once I’ve taken over the Righteous Sect and sent you all on your way to the Western Road, then you’ll know what real power is. And as for you, Huang Wei, I’m giving you a chance. Sign this transfer agreement and I might consider sparing you. If you refuse, you’ll all be drinking tea with the King of Hell today!”
“I won’t. I’ll never sign it. I’m telling you, Hua Qiang, I’d rather die than let you have your way!” Huang Wei’s resolve was clear—she and Ye Feng had already agreed on this. Ye Feng had been uncannily accurate in his predictions, though Huang Wei didn’t know that all this information had been gathered by Ma Long and the others; as for who was in contact with Hua Qiang, Hu Chunlin and the rest were still unknown.
“Huang Wei, don’t think you’re still the beloved Miss Huang you once were. You’re nothing now. With a word from me, you’ll be out of the Righteous Sect. This is your last chance—don’t throw it away,” Hua Qiang threatened, but inside he was secretly delighted.
Yet, Hua Qiang was still wary. If Zuo Huan and Chen Hao’s brothers realized something was wrong and hurried back, things could get complicated. He needed to settle this quickly—if Huang Wei signed that agreement, he could command Chen Hao and Zuo Huan’s subordinates with it.
“Don’t delude yourself, Hua Qiang,” Huang Wei said, her eyes blazing. “I’ll never sign that agreement. And tell me the truth—did you kill my father?”
“I didn’t. I don’t know how Huang Tianba died. Stop wasting your breath and sign the damn agreement! This is your last chance to live—don’t be so shameless!” Hua Qiang finally dropped all pretense, cursing viciously.
“Give up, Hua Qiang. I’ll never agree to anything you want, not unless I’m dead!” Huang Wei glared at him, determined to take down this traitor with her own hands for the sake of her late father. Her eyes grew wet at the thought.
“Fine, if you won’t do it, I’ll grant your wish. Don’t think I don’t dare kill you, Huang Wei. In fact, before I kill you, I think I’ll have a little fun first. Let’s see if you’re as delicate and pure as you look—it should be quite entertaining!” As he thought about her body, lust flashed in Hua Qiang’s eyes, as if he were stripping her with his gaze and preparing to attack.
“You’re a monster, Hua Qiang! You’ll die a horrible death!” Seeing the lecherous glint in his eyes, Huang Wei was truly frightened now—this fear was no act, but came from deep within. Hua Qiang’s face twisted with perversion.
“Damn you, Hua Qiang! Are you even a man? Picking on a woman—if you have any guts, come at me instead!” Ye Feng pretended to be anxious, deliberately drawing Hua Qiang’s attention to himself to ease the pressure on Huang Wei.
Hearing Ye Feng’s taunt, Hua Qiang turned and glared at him. “Oh, I almost forgot about you. Kid, aren’t you supposed to be a tough guy? Let’s see how tough you are now!” With that, Hua Qiang aimed a savage kick straight at Ye Feng’s groin.
