Chapter 116: Reporting to Ye Feng

Seeing that most of the customers had scattered, the team leader hurriedly signaled his subordinates to wrap up. As they were leaving, he didn't forget to smile at Zhang Wei and say, "Not bad, your club is doing quite well. Keep up the good work; we will certainly report this upward. Haha."

Watching the team leader’s smug expression, Zhang Wei truly wanted to lunge forward and beat him to a pulp. Damn it, he was absolutely detestable. "Keep up the work, my ass!" But what could he do now? He had no way to stand up to them, and these bastards were just impossible.

The team leader left the Chenlong Club with a laugh. As soon as he stepped out the door, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Leader, the matter has been taken care of. The manager’s face turned green on the spot. Damn, it feels so good! Yes, yes, please rest assured, Leader; we will definitely strive for more. Yes, yes, it’s no trouble at all—at your service!"

Hanging up the phone, the team leader smiled triumphantly. His superior had promised that if he kept performing well, a deputy position would open up in a few months, and he would be in line for a promotion. What a thrill! He had originally thought his chances were slim, but with the boss’s words, it felt like a shot of adrenaline.

"Brother Long, what do we do now?" Seeing Ma Long walk down with a grim look on his face, Zhang Wei quickly rushed over to ask. Damn, these people were infuriating. The business had been booming, but now it was desolate, with hardly anyone spending money. Some customers had even called their friends to tell them not to come. It was maddening.

"Sigh, man proposes, God disposes. I have to inform Brother Feng and see if he has any good ideas," Ma Long said helplessly. Brother Feng had vast connections and great capabilities; if even he didn't have a solution, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Sigh, I suppose that’s the only way. By the way, Chu Yun and the boys have been in You County for a while now, right?" Zhang Wei remarked. Chu Yun had brought a few men over before rushing off to You County; one look was enough to tell he was a man of passion and action.

Ma Long nodded, pulled his phone from his pocket, and after a moment of hesitation, dialed Ye Feng’s number. The call was answered quickly. Ma Long asked cautiously, "Brother Feng, you aren't asleep yet, are you?"

"Damn, Long, are you joking? What time is it? You think I’d be asleep already?" Ye Feng retorted. It was barely ten o'clock; how could he be asleep? He was planning to wait for Biyun to finish her shift and then engage in some intimate activities.

Ma Long realized then that it was still quite early. Damn, he had been so busy every night that the sudden lack of business made everything feel empty and cold. It was all the fault of those people. "Brother Feng, it’s... it’s like this. There have been some issues at the club recently, and I think you need to take a look and help us figure out a solution."

"Hmm, don't panic. Tell me the situation," Ye Feng said. Hearing that there was trouble at the club, his heart sank. Things had been going well, especially with Sister Shan overseeing things and the newly implemented membership system.

"Well, it’s like this. Recently, people from the Public Security Bureau have been coming to inspect the place every single day, claiming it’s a 'routine check.' Business has almost completely dried up," Ma Long said indignantly.

"Oh? That’s what’s happening? By the way, have you asked your contact in the Bureau?" Ye Feng asked. Having connections in the police force usually made things easier, and he recalled Ma Long saying they had someone on the inside covering for Chenlong Club.

Ma Long felt miserable just thinking about it. "I asked. Even though he’s a section chief with some authority, he said he had no idea about this. It seems like the orders came directly from higher up."

"I see. That complicates things. All right, I’ll come over tomorrow morning to take a look. This isn't simple, and we need to think this through carefully. I suspect this is being done deliberately," Ye Feng mused. If even a section chief was kept in the dark, it meant someone quite senior was pulling the strings.

After discussing a few more details, Ye Feng hung up. He then gave Huang Shan a call, hoping she could look into it. "Hey, Sister Shan, not asleep yet?" Ye Feng said with a smile. Even if she wasn't asleep, she had likely changed into her pajamas by now. Thinking of her alluring figure, Ye Feng felt his pulse quicken.

"Is that any way to ask? It’s only this late. I’m looking over documents; business is getting harder and harder to manage," Huang Shan said, sounding a bit aggrieved. It was understandable; she was just a woman, yet she had to manage such a massive conglomerate. She was busy from dawn till dusk.

"If business is tough, do less of it. Take care of your health, or I’ll be heartbroken!" Ye Feng said with a tone of mock infatuation.

Hearing his concerned voice, Huang Shan felt a surge of warmth. She had no choice, though; she wanted to rest, but if she stopped, what would happen to the vast company? She couldn't find a suitable successor, which was why she had to work so hard.

"Sigh, there's no way around it. By the way, why did you suddenly think of calling me? You’re such a busy man, I thought you’d forgotten about this old woman," she said with a hint of bitterness. This bad boy—she waited for his calls every day, but he never initiated.

"Not at all! And who dares to call you old? I’d fight them to the death. You’re so young and beautiful; you don't know how many young men you’ve captivated or how many girls envy you," Ye Feng said, laughing lecherously. She was so youthful; one only had to look at her ample bosom to know that.

"Is that how you flatter people?" Huang Shan chided, though she felt as sweet as if she’d been fed honey. "Tell me, what do you need?"

"Actually, it’s nothing major. I heard from Ma Long tonight that the Public Security Bureau has been conducting constant 'inspections' at the club, and it’s killing the business. I was hoping you could help me ask around and see what’s really going on," Ye Feng said sheepishly.

Huang Shan thought for a moment and replied, "Hmm, that problem? Tell you what, I’ll call the deputy director over there and check the situation, then I’ll let you know, alright?" She didn't usually mingle with those people, but she knew a few of them through casual connections.
