94. Chapter 94 Public Opinion (7)
Of course, in Chi Mie's eyes, that whole lot of fools were no more than fish, shrimp, and crabs.
“Good tolerance,” Chi Mie said, and immediately lifted another bowl.
Yun Zui wiped the wine from the corner of her mouth and quickly picked up a second bowl as well.
Neither was willing to yield, and for a time neither could outdo the other.
Only by the thirty-fourth bowl did Yun Zui feel as though her stomach might burst. She should never have eaten so much beforehand.
“Pause for a moment. I need to step away for a bit,” Yun Zui said, and immediately ran off.
Watching her retreating figure, the corners of Chi Mie's mouth lifted. How interesting.
“Third Brother, don’t you need to visit the place where all things return?” Chi Yuan asked, gazing at Chi Mie with reverent admiration.
If he had been a woman, he would have pursued Chi Mie relentlessly too, until he made himself his woman.
Chi Mie was outstanding in every respect, and even when it came to drinking, he was flawless.
He truly had not known Chi Mie could hold his liquor so well.
Chi Mie cast him a faint glance with those phoenix eyes. “This prince long ago used my internal power to disperse the effects of the wine, and even the moisture has already evaporated. Even another forty bowls may not be a problem.”
Only that foolish Yun Zui was relying on true skill.
Chi Yuan immediately looked as if enlightenment had struck him, regarding Chi Mie with eyes full of contempt for such shameless trickery.
So that was it. No wonder Chi Mie seemed completely unaffected.
But Chi Mie really was devious, having outwitted even the devious Yun Zui.
Chi Yuan felt rather delighted and moved even closer to Chi Mie. Why were grandchildren of the same grandfather so different from one another?
While Chi Yuan was still brooding over this, Yun Zui had already come back this way.
Her eyes were somewhat dazed, but her steps were still fairly steady.
She walked over, braced a hand on the table, and said to Chi Mie, “Boy, this lady has never lost to anyone. Let’s go again!”
With that, Yun Zui raised yet another bowl before her and drank it down.
Chi Yuan’s mouth twitched. He stole a careful glance at Chi Mie, only to find that he did not seem angry at all.
Still, Yun Zui was truly crude to call herself “this lady.” Was she even a woman anymore? She was practically a female tough guy.
If Yun Zui knew that Chi Yuan saw her as a female tough guy, she would definitely retort that a female tough guy was still stronger than a weak little delicate woman.
By then Yun Zui was already somewhat drunk. Her cheeks burned hotly, and after another nine bowls in this contest, she felt a faint ringing in her head. Her thoughts were growing muddled.
Why did Chi Mie still look so calm?
Why was he not drunk?
She sighed inwardly. It seemed she had lost.
“I’m not doing this anymore!” Yun Zui frowned, puffed out her lips, her cheeks flushed as though they held two peach blossoms, soft and pink and tender.
Without those spines of hers, she actually looked a little feminine.
On her way back, Yun Zui’s steps had grown unsteady, as though she might collapse at any moment.
Chi Mie immediately caught up and gathered her into his arms.
The reek of alcohol all over Yun Zui was overpowering. Now and then she let out an ungainly burp, followed by a stretch of foolish laughter.
So this woman even got drunk and made a scene?
Chi Mie’s phoenix eyes were full of amusement.
The people passing by all around them could not help turning to look when they saw Chi Mie supporting the drunken, unsteady Yun Zui, but none of them dared step forward.
Ignoring everyone around him, Chi Mie simply held Yun Zui in his arms and carried her back to the tent.
