The two Han sisters stared at Yang Jiekai, as if they were scrutinizing a strange creature. Yang Jiekai felt uneasy under their gaze and said, “Why are you looking at me like that? There’s nothing blossoming on my face.”

“Cut the nonsense!” Han Wei fixed her eyes on him. “Tell us the truth—what’s going on? If you don’t explain, tonight I’ll make sure my sister doesn’t let you sleep in her bed!”

Yang Jiekai looked aggrieved. “When have I ever slept in your sister’s bed? You make it sound like we share a bed every night.”

Han Ning shot Han Wei a glare, clearly embarrassed by the joke. A blush crept across her delicate face, and she turned away.

Han Wei kept up her teasing, “If you confess about today, maybe my sister will be so happy she lets you sleep with her tonight…”

“If anyone’s going to sleep with him, you do it yourself. What’s it got to do with me!” Han Ning finally couldn’t take it. She’d been raised with traditional values, unlike Han Wei, who grew up in Western countries and was far more open-minded.

Yang Jiekai chuckled to himself. If only these two sisters would share a bed with him someday, that would be heaven! But he dared not let such thoughts show on his face. After coughing twice to cover his embarrassment, he recounted the events from start to finish, omitting the part about meeting Lin Wen during his acquaintance with Wang Xiang. After all, Han Ning was his legal wife; he couldn’t very well admit in front of her that he’d fought for another woman.

“That’s basically it. I didn’t think much of it yesterday, just wanted to try my luck. Didn’t expect Wang Xiang to be so useful,” Yang Jiekai said, spreading his hands.

Han Wei nodded. “So that’s how it is. Looks like Wang Xiang’s been thoroughly fooled by you. Worshiping you as his master? What can you teach him? How to be a scoundrel?”

Yang Jiekai shrugged, not bothering to argue. He knew sparring verbally with his sharp-tongued sister-in-law was a waste of time.

After a while, Han Ning, who had stayed silent, spoke softly, “No matter what, it’s thanks to you this time. Thank you…”

Her voice weakened noticeably at the words of thanks, clearly unaccustomed to expressing gratitude.

“No need, it was nothing.” Yang Jiekai really hadn’t thought much of it; yesterday had just been a convenient opportunity. Rather than helping Han Ning, it was mostly for himself—he was still waiting for this little heiress to rise again, so he could find a chance to split the assets with her!

With the investors secured, the project Han Wei brought back could officially begin. The Han sisters were in high spirits, discussing the project excitedly.

Yang Jiekai sat on the sofa, idly flipping channels with the remote, unable to find anything interesting. Just as he was about to go back to his room and go online, a commercial suddenly played on the TV.

“Such-and-such bra: ever since I started using it, I feel firmer, perkier, fuller, and more confident…”

It was a bra advertisement, and Yang Jiekai watched with great interest—not for any other reason, but because this bra was a product of their Silkberry Group.

Han Ning accidentally glanced over and saw Yang Jiekai engrossed in the bra commercial, her faint goodwill dissipating instantly. This guy was just a ravenous beast, staring so intently at a bra ad.

At that moment, Yang Jiekai turned his head and met Han Ning’s eyes.

Han Ning blushed and quickly looked away.

“Wife, I want to discuss something with you,” Yang Jiekai suddenly said.

“Speak,” Han Ning replied coolly. If not for the fact that he’d helped her out, she wouldn’t bother with this beast.

“Do you buy bras?” Yang Jiekai blinked and looked at Han Ning.

Not only Han Ning, but even Han Wei turned to him with a disgusted expression. “You’re such a pervert!”

Realizing the misunderstanding, Yang Jiekai hurriedly explained the Silkberry Group’s sales competition, detailing everything from start to finish. Only then did the Han sisters stop glaring daggers at him.

“So that’s it,” Han Wei breathed a sigh of relief. “But you’ll have to ask my sister about this. Company matters are up to her.” She turned to Han Ning with a mischievous grin, “Sis, your brother-in-law is selling bras—do you want to buy one?”

“Get lost!” Han Ning glared at her outspoken sister, then looked at Yang Jiekai. “Our Ziyu Company hasn’t entered that sector yet. I could help you, but as a man, you should rely on yourself, not always… on women!”

“Oh.” Yang Jiekai nodded, a bit disheartened. He was just testing his luck, after all. Han Ning was always lukewarm towards him; it’d be surprising if she helped out.

Han Ning felt a bit guilty after speaking—he’d just helped her a great deal, yet she couldn’t fulfill his modest request. She added, “But if you’re content relying on women for life, I can help you this time.”

“No need!” Yang Jiekai wasn’t the sort to stubbornly cling to pride, but after her words, what else could he say? He waved his hand. “Don’t worry, I’m a man—I’ll handle this myself!”

His declaration was full of masculine pride, making the Han sisters nod to themselves—that’s how a man should speak!

But his next action nearly made them faint.

Yang Jiekai stood up, walking toward his room while dialing a number. “Hey, Wang Xiang? Go tell your dad to order a batch of bras from me… End of this month… Yeah, make sure this gets done, or I’ll kick you out of the master’s circle!”

With that, he went into his room and closed the door.

The Han sisters stared at each other, baffled. What was that? Didn’t he just say he’d rely on himself? Now he’s threatening his apprentice?

For several days, things were calm, nothing special happening. Yang Jiekai spent his days leisurely wandering around Silkberry Tower, admiring the stylishly dressed beauties in the company, occasionally chatting and drinking with Qin Feng and others. Life was comfortable.

The company’s sales competition was in full swing. Zhang Hua, though a bit arrogant, was indeed capable. In a few short days, he’d secured several big deals, putting the sales department far ahead of the others. At this rate, the sales department was sure to win again.

The prize for this competition was more tempting than ever, and conversely, the departments at the bottom would face harsher penalties than before. So every department was racking their brains, and in just a few days, everyone had some sales achievements—though none matched the sales department, at least they weren’t too embarrassed.

At the bottom of the rankings, naturally, was the security department, still showing a big fat zero on the scorecard. But since the security team joined the competition, most employees had become much more cordial with them. With the security department as a “guarantee,” no other department worried about coming last, so they treated them with extreme friendliness.

“Sister Wu, back already? I bet you brought in lots of business today.”

Yang Jiekai greeted a beautiful young woman with a cheerful smile. Known as Sister Wu, her full name was Wu Caiyue. She was only a few years older than Yang Jiekai, married a year ago, but rumor had it her husband was useless—never worked, always chasing women and partying. It was said Wu Caiyue was currently divorcing him.

Wu Caiyue seemed in low spirits, merely smiling politely at Yang Jiekai before hurrying into the company.

Yang Jiekai, with his keen observation, noticed she’d definitely cried today—her eyes were slightly red, and her makeup had been freshly touched up at the corners.

But she was married, so he didn’t pry further. Though Wu Caiyue was undeniably a beauty, she was already spoken for, and it wouldn’t be right to get too close.

“What a fine cabbage wasted on a pig!” Yang Jiekai sighed as he watched her graceful figure disappear, then resumed his leisurely wandering around the tower.

After a few rounds, he spotted Qin Feng and Gongsun, both smoking idly under a pillar.

“What are you two doing? It’s work hours!” Yang Jiekai greeted them with a smile and walked over.

“Oh, come on!” Qin Feng replied, tossing him a cigarette. “It’s so damn boring. Gongsun and I are thinking of grabbing a drink after work. Are you in?”

“You two go ahead; I won’t join today,” Yang Jiekai said, lighting the cigarette. “Besides, I’m a married man—not like you two bachelors.”

Qin Feng and the others already knew Yang Jiekai was married—it was listed on the employment forms, so it wasn’t a secret in the company.

Qin Feng shrugged. “What’s wrong with being single? Singles are free—do whatever, chase whoever. You, surrounded by flowers, are tethered to a single tree. Getting married early isn’t a good deal for a man.”

“Exactly,” Gongsun chimed in. “Married young, fewer chances. I’m still young, haven’t played enough.”

Qin Feng rolled his eyes at Gongsun. “Please, with your looks, who’d pay you any mind? I’m single by choice; you’re single by default. Not the same.”

Gongsun protested, “That’s not true! My goddess Shangguan likes me. I’m thinking of confessing to her soon!”

“Then why did you say marrying young means fewer chances?” Qin Feng asked.

“Well… For Shangguan, I’d stay faithful and never touch another woman!”

Yang Jiekai had no patience for their banter and waved his hand to interrupt. “Who says marriage means fewer chances? I’m married, but I still do as I please. At home, the red flag stays raised; outside, the colorful flags flutter. That’s my style!”

Qin Feng snorted. “Stop comforting yourself. All these days, I haven’t seen you do anything real—just talk. Who doesn’t?”

“Right,” Gongsun chimed in. “Why don’t you pick up a girl? If you manage to, I’ll treat you to a five-star hotel dinner, even if I have to sell my pots and pans!”

“Is that a promise?” Yang Jiekai, though experienced, was still in his twenties—full of youthful energy. Their words stirred his competitive spirit.

“A gentleman’s word is his bond!”

Yang Jiekai glanced in a certain direction, then smiled mysteriously. “Heh, I’ll prove it to you. I’ll go pick up a girl right now.”

“Who are you planning to pick up?” Qin Feng asked, surprised.

Yang Jiekai pointed with his lips. “Her.”

Qin Feng and Gongsun looked where he indicated and their mouths dropped open in shock. “You… you’re going after her?”
