Chapter 48: A Nosebleed
At that moment, Mimi, who had been sitting gracefully not far away, also ran over and lay down beside Lin Chuyi, lazily wagging her tail.
“Excuse me,” Mo Yu whispered softly as he opened his eyes.
Within his sight was a pale, delicate face. The familiar features made Mo Yu pause briefly—it was Lin Chuyi.
His gaze quickly swept from Lin Chuyi’s face to the jade-like arm that was bleeding. Since he had never seen a woman’s fair skin up close, Mo Yu felt a blush rise to his ears.
Yet, with a composed expression, he pressed on several acupoints on Lin Chuyi’s arm, then picked up the discarded clothing nearby and tore it apart deftly to bandage the wound.
“Meow~”
“You little one, I feel like I know you,” Mo Yu said, reaching out to pat Mimi’s fluffy head, a strange feeling flickering through his mind.
Mimi chirped happily twice more, then jumped up beside Mo Yu, rubbing affectionately against his arm.
Looking at Mimi, Mo Yu couldn’t quite place why she felt so familiar. He shook his head slightly—he must be too sensitive. How could a mere kitten evoke such a feeling?
Bending down, he scooped Lin Chuyi into his arms. Like a gust of wind, he swiftly flew dozens of meters away, carefully avoiding the servants on his way to the guest room based on memory.
His lightness skill was extraordinary, moving at incredible speed. Even if he hadn’t deliberately avoided the servants, they would hardly have noticed his presence.
By the time he finally reached the guest room where he was staying, Mo Yu was drenched in a cold sweat. After all, he was still severely injured, and the journey had been exhausting.
Because of the haste, the long garment wrapped around Lin Chuyi had slipped down to her chest without either of them noticing. Her fair, delicate skin was faintly visible. Mo Yu’s eyes deepened, and the fingertips resting on Lin Chuyi’s arm trembled slightly.
Sensing his own unease, Mo Yu quickly withdrew his hand and pulled the blanket over her alluring figure.
When did he become so lacking in self-control?
Mo Yu chuckled lightly, shaking his head. He turned and picked up the simple medical supplies left by Doctor Li, carefully tending to Lin Chuyi’s wounds.
When Lin Chuyi woke up, the first thing she saw was the bed curtain. She froze for a moment. So, was everything that had just happened only a dream?
Exhaling deeply, Lin Chuyi felt a wave of relief—thank goodness it was a dream; it had been terrifying.
But why did her hand hurt so much?
Curious, she slowly raised her left hand. The once fair arm was now wrapped tightly in layers of bandages, faint reddish stains showing through beneath.
It was blood!
Lin Chuyi’s eyes widened. No wonder it hurt so much. Remembering she had been attacked while sleeping, anger surged through her. “Which bastard attacked me?”
She shouted and suddenly jumped out of bed, but then froze the next moment.
Who could explain why Brother Mo was here?
Lin Chuyi’s adorable reaction was observed quietly by Mo Yu. The smile on his handsome face deepened, yet suddenly it froze, crimson clouds faintly coloring his devilishly charming cheeks.
“Brother Mo, you—you’re bleeding from your nose,” Lin Chuyi said blankly, pointing at his nose.
Could it be that he had overdone the treatment just now?
Lin Chuyi was lost in thought, unaware that anything was amiss.
“Ahem…” Mo Yu recovered from his shock, calmly pulling out a handkerchief to wipe the blood from his nose. “I was seriously injured yesterday. I must have taken too much tonic earlier. I fear I’ve caused Lin Chuyi some embarrassment.”
