Chapter 28: The Film Emperor Keeps a Black-Hearted Vixen
Su Tang withdrew her hand. "I didn't expect you to still have it."
"You carefully picked it out; how could I possibly have thrown it away?" Song Heqing replied.
Shen Lü leaned in. "Brother Song already has one, Su Tang, you can give yours to me." He reached out to grab the stone.
But Song Heqing was quicker and snatched it away first.
Both Su Tang and Shen Lü were momentarily stunned, looking up at Song Heqing.
"I think mine isn't enough," Song Heqing said nonchalantly.
Shen Lü hesitated, looking at Song Heqing with a shrinking gaze. "Then I'll go find one myself."
Song Heqing, like an elder, nodded. "Go ahead." He then noticed the twitch at the corner of Su Tang's mouth.
Su Tang suppressed a smile, her eyes full of amusement as she looked at Song Heqing, but since Wen Tian was standing nearby, she said nothing.
In truth, the slingshot was quite simple. Compared to stooping and crouching to catch wild chickens, they preferred using the slingshot.
Throughout the morning, apart from Su Tang and Song Heqing, who each caught two wild chickens, the others merely practiced with the slingshot.
Song Heqing’s skill was intimidating enough to strike Shen Lü’s confidence down, so after returning home, Shen Lü diligently practiced the slingshot.
After some discussion, they exchanged the two wild chickens for points and went to the small store to buy some oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar.
Back home, Song Heqing still took charge of cooking.
While the others were washing up and practicing, Su Tang quietly moved beside Song Heqing to assist him.
She whispered, "Brother Song, don’t you think the two of us are starting to look like an old married couple?"
Song Heqing paused his movements and glanced at her. "A little."
Su Tang chuckled softly and leaned closer, whispering, "Brother Song, were you jealous today?"
Song Heqing said nothing, keeping his head down and busy.
Su Tang inwardly delighted, "Then I’ll take that as a yes~"
She happily went to boil water elsewhere.
What she didn’t see was Song Heqing’s lips curling slightly in a faint smile as he stood there.
The next few days, the others finally grew accustomed to the slingshot—except Wen Tian.
More or less, everyone caught wild chickens daily, but having grown tired of eating them, they exchanged the chickens for points to buy some vegetables.
At the same time, their attention turned to a little pig.
Apparently, their previous actions had startled it, as it had not appeared for some time.
The group searched the mountain slowly, with Su Tang subtly trying to lure them toward the prey, but all they found were wild chickens.
She asked 001 if it could lock onto the pig directly, but was coldly refused.
They had no choice but to continue exploring on their own.
Chang Qinghua sighed deeply, "Has this pig gained some kind of spirit? It knows we want to catch it, so it's hiding?"
Su Tang raised an eyebrow. "That’s quite possible."
Song Heqing glanced at the slingshot in Su Tang’s hand. "Maybe it heard you were going to pounce on it, so it’s afraid to come out?"
"Pfft, Su Tang, your tastes are quite unusual," Shen Lü teased from the side.
Su Tang immediately smacked him. If she couldn’t hit Song Heqing, why not hit Shen Lü?
"Ouch! Brother Song said it first! Why don’t you hit him?" Shen Lü dodged quickly.
"Mind your own business!" Su Tang chased after him.
Song Heqing’s eyes darkened slightly as he watched them for a moment before stepping forward to hold Su Tang’s arms. "Alright, alright, stop fooling around. Let’s find the pig."
After being scolded by viewers, Wen Tian’s sly remarks had improved, but she still looked upon Su Tang unfavorably.
Especially when Su Tang was with Song Heqing—seeing Su Tang and Shen Lü joking around, she smiled ambiguously.
"I have to say, you two really do look like a couple teasing each other," Wen Tian teased with a smirk.
Su Tang quickly glanced at Song Heqing, sure enough, Wen Tian had been well-behaved for a couple of days but couldn’t hold back any longer.
Su Tang felt no embarrassment from Wen Tian’s words, but Shen Lü was momentarily stunned.
Su Tang boldly draped an arm over Shen Lü’s shoulder. "Wen Tian, what are you talking about? Shen Lü and I are just good buddies. My ideal type is Brother Song."
Shen Lü stiffened, his smile fading somewhat.
Song Heqing curled a satisfied smile at Su Tang. "Then I’d better be careful."
They walked and talked, Su Tang noticing Shen Lü wasn’t as lively as before but couldn’t guess why.
Fortunately, that day they finally encountered the little pig, just as they had suspected—it was hiding in a remote spot.
Both sides locked eyes cautiously upon discovery.
The group formed a semicircle and slowly approached the pig.
Wen Tian lagged a few steps behind, clearly not wanting to get bumped by the pig.
Su Tang approached steadily, adjusting her stance.
"Now!" Song Heqing gave the command, and everyone lunged at the pig together.
After they had subdued it, Wen Tian cautiously moved closer.
But seeing the pig struggle fiercely, she still didn’t dare to get near.
Congratulations and prosperity: "Wow, look at Su Tang!"
Wishes for all things going well: "I see it... amazing..."
Joyful Sheep is Not a Sheep: "That’s just too fierce."
Lazy Big Brother of Sheep Village: "This girl is really something..."
Indeed, the moment everyone pounced, Su Tang had already begun tying the pig with a rope.
By the time the pig was almost secured, Su Tang finished tying it up.
Not only the viewers were stunned, but those present were too.
Chang Qinghua’s mouth hung open. "I can’t believe it, Su Tang, you don’t show it but you’re so... so..."
"So fierce?" Song Heqing smiled and finished for him, also surprised by Su Tang’s strength.
Shen Lü gave Su Tang a thumbs-up. "Su Jie, you really are a fierce woman!"
Su Tang shyly rubbed her nose and chuckled; she had indeed been too excited and too forceful.
She glanced at Song Heqing’s expression and saw him looking at her teasingly.
Her face flushed deeply. Oh no, her image in her idol’s eyes was completely ruined.
Compared to the lively scene here, Wen Tian had completely lost her presence.
As a result, after these few days of streaming, her screen time was pitifully little.
She clearly noticed and, after they returned with the pig traded for vegetables and pork, she raised her hand to volunteer to cook.
"Wen Tian, you can cook too?" Chang Qinghua asked.
Wen Tian smiled shyly. "Yes, but Brother Song has been cooking all these days. I’m not as good as him, so I haven’t dared to show off."
