Nan Chu’s heart began to race, and she closed her eyes, not daring to look at Jiang Han.

This was the first time she had been ill and not alone, with someone by her side to care for her.

It was also the first time someone had told her that they liked her.

Jiang Han smiled faintly as he carefully massaged Nan Chu’s abdomen.

After more than ten minutes, Jiang Han rubbed his hands together to warm them, then placed his entire palm against Nan Chu’s smooth, fair belly.

A rosy flush spread across Nan Chu’s skin.

Jiang Han chuckled softly, feeling quite pleased as he continued to apply warmth to her abdomen.

After a good ten minutes of warm compress, Jiang Han spoke, “Rest well. I’m going back to my room now.”

“Thank you, Jiang Han,” Nan Chu replied softly. “Good night.”

Jiang Han smiled slightly. “Good night, my girl.”

He then left Nan Chu’s room.

Nan Chu hugged the blanket, tossing and turning on the bed.

In her heart, she cried out silently: Ah—

It took a long time before she finally fell asleep. The next morning, when she got up, Jiang Han had already prepared breakfast.

Nan Chu saw Jiang Han and didn’t dare meet his gaze; her ears flushed red.

Seeing her like this, Jiang Han’s expression was a mix of indulgence and helplessness. She was really too shy.

“Feeling better?”

“Yes.”

“You barely ate anything last night, so I made breakfast for you. Have some,” he said.

“Thank you.”

As Nan Chu and Jiang Han ate breakfast, they hadn’t finished when Si Junyan appeared in the living room.

Seeing Nan Chu and Jiang Han together, Si Junyan walked straight over.

“Nan Chu, are you feeling better? You didn’t seem to have much appetite last night,” Si Junyan asked with concern.

“I’m fine now, much better.”

“That’s good to hear.” Si Junyan then inquired, “Where did this breakfast come from?”

Jiang Han raised an eyebrow. “I made it. There’s no more.”

[Get lost!]

“That’s a pity,” Si Junyan said as he sat down beside Nan Chu.

Jiang Han’s eyes flashed with murderous intent; if looks could kill, Si Junyan might have died a thousand times over.

Jiang Han had sat opposite Nan Chu just to be near her, only to have this annoying fellow sit beside her.

Fortunately, Nan Chu finished her breakfast in less than two minutes.

Seeing her done, Jiang Han said, “Nan Chu, you should go back to your room and rest some more. I’ll take care of the dishes.”

“Thanks for the trouble.”

“There’s no need for formalities between us.”

Nan Chu returned to her room.

Si Junyan looked at Jiang Han and said, “Jiang Shao, you’re usually so cold-hearted, and yet you’ve actually developed feelings.”

“Exactly, so stay away from Nan Chu from now on,” Jiang Han warned.

Si Junyan clicked his tongue. “Funny, Nan Chu is my type too.”

“Let’s see who’s more capable,” Si Junyan challenged. “Nan Chu’s first kiss is mine.”

“Touching lips? That’s called a kiss?” Jiang Han snorted coldly. “Nan Chu’s first kiss is mine. You can keep dreaming.”

He was talking about a French kiss!

“Then let’s see who can win her over first,” Si Junyan said, tossing down the gauntlet before leaving the living room.

At nine o'clock, the director announced the day’s date arrangements.

“Yesterday, Nangong Hengmo and Li Wenya won. They have priority in choosing partners.”

“They chose each other, so today they can go out on a date.”

“The other guests have free time.”

Nangong Hengmo and Li Wenya went out on their date.

The other guests either returned to their rooms or stayed in the living room.

Si Junyan looked at Nan Chu and said, “Nan Chu, want to go to the bookstore together?”

“I found a really good book I want to recommend to you.”

“Sure,” Nan Chu nodded.

Without hesitation, Jiang Han followed along.

Si Junyan glanced at Jiang Han, his smile forced and insincere. “Jiang, you like reading too? Why didn’t I know?”

“Do I know you well? Do you know me well?” Jiang Han raised an eyebrow.

“Nan Chu, let’s sit in the back,” Jiang Han said. “Don’t disturb Mr. Si while he’s driving.”

“Alright.”

Nan Chu and Jiang Han sat in the back seat, while Si Junyan drove with a blank expression.

[Wow, he really looks like a chauffeur.]

Hearing this thought, Nan Chu couldn’t help but smile.

“Thinking of something funny?” Jiang Han asked.

“Nothing.” She couldn’t exactly say she could hear their inner thoughts.

The ride was silent as they arrived at the bookstore.

Si Junyan and Jiang Han flanked Nan Chu, like two bodyguards.

Si Junyan found the book he wanted to recommend, and Nan Chu began reading it right there in the store.

Si Junyan and Jiang Han also picked books to accompany her.

Jiang Han watched Nan Chu for a while, his eyes fixed on her.

Her concentration was remarkable; she was completely absorbed in the book.

Jiang Han then took out his phone and started taking pictures covertly.

Si Junyan whispered, “Are you a pervert, taking sneaky photos?”

“None of your business!”

“I’m photographing my future girlfriend, my wife. What’s the problem?” Jiang Han said shamelessly.

Si Junyan rolled his eyes. “Shameless. Nobody knows whose future girlfriend or wife she’ll be yet!”

Afterwards, he took out his phone to take pictures too—he wasn’t about to lose!

“Copycat!”

“So what? I’m just copying you. None of your business.”

They bickered briefly, then returned to quietly reading.

[My goodness, these two actually both consider Nan Chu their girlfriend, future wife!]

[Are they serious? I find that hard to believe.]

[It feels like Jiang Han and Si Junyan have something going on.]

[Hey, that’s a bit creepy.]

[Are they like squabbling elementary school kids?]

An hour later, Nan Chu finished the book Si Junyan recommended.

Afterward, she picked out several more books to bring home.

At checkout, Jiang Han was quicker, pulling out his phone first and paying.

Si Junyan, a step slower, rolled his eyes again.

“Nan Chu, want to keep browsing?”

Jiang Han replied flatly, “Nan Chu needs to rest.”

Si Junyan raised an eyebrow. “Are you Nan Chu? Can you speak for her?”

Jiang Han said, “Because Nan Chu is on her period, she needs to rest.”

Nan Chu tugged at Jiang Han’s sleeve, signaling him to stop talking.

[Wow! Jiang Han knows Nan Chu is on her period!]

[You caught that detail.]

[Looks like something happened last night that we VIPs didn’t see; only the director has the footage.]

[No wonder Nan Chu looked so pale last night and barely ate.]

[Now that I think about it, Jiang Han kept watching her closely last night—maybe he knew she was in pain and was worried!]

Hearing Jiang Han’s words, Si Junyan’s voice lowered. “Then let’s go back and rest.”

The three returned together.

Back at the villa, Nan Chu went to her room to rest.

Seeing Nan Chu rest, Si Junyan and Jiang Han each returned to their own rooms.

Perhaps due to her period, Nan Chu felt weak; after reading for a while, she fell asleep.

Around noon, Jiang Han and Si Junyan came together to find Nan Chu for lunch.

They didn’t call anyone else at the villa.

Each made two dishes.

“Nan Chu, try them and see which you like better,” Si Junyan said.

Jiang Han added, “Nan Chu, guess which dishes we each made.”
