The corner of Luo Qingyao’s mouth hurt, and she forcefully shoved Yun Yi away. Rising to her feet, she let her disheveled hair fall carelessly over her chest and back. Her cheeks were flushed, and even her voice had unconsciously become three parts softer and more delicate.

“What kind of master behaves like that? Taking advantage of his disciple like this?”

Seeing her coy, indignant expression, Yun Yi found her as tender and graceful as a water lotus, her beauty fresh and striking. His heart stirred once more.

“It seems that before teaching you spiritual arts, your master needs to teach you something else first!”

At his words, Luo Qingyao immediately grew expectant. Yun Yi had given her far too many surprises today, and she gazed at him eagerly.

“What?”

Yun Yi gave a wicked smile. He reached out and slipped an arm around her waist again, then bent his thin lips to her ear. His breath, cool and pure as a snow lotus, brushed slowly against her skin.

“The moon is brightest when one stands near the tower.”

“Go to hell!” Luo Qingyao flushed with both embarrassment and anger, and abruptly shoved him away again.

“Hahaha...” Seeing this, Yun Yi only laughed even more heartily.

The master and disciple continued their playful bickering and roughhousing, behaving in no way like a proper master and disciple should.

Both of them knew perfectly well that neither had ever truly regarded the other as master or disciple. Their becoming master and disciple had merely been a temporary expedient.

“Keep this Primordial Unity Heart Method safe. After some time, I’ll take you somewhere. Once we obtain something there, you’ll be able to cultivate the spiritual arts recorded within it.” Yun Yi handed the manual to Luo Qingyao once more, his voice gentle.

Luo Qingyao obediently accepted it and placed it directly inside the space within the Exquisite Ring. Then she stepped forward with a smile and took hold of his arm.

“Master, now that everything is settled, let’s go home!”

At her words, Yun Yi’s eyes lit up. The feeling of Luo Qingyao voluntarily clinging to his arm made him positively ecstatic, and he smiled so broadly that his eyes narrowed into slits.

“You said we should go home?”

Luo Qingyao nodded with an earnest expression. “Of course. You’re my master, so naturally you should come home with me. Besides, you only have that one place in the capital, and living there alone must be terribly lonely. It would be much better for you to stay at my house!”

Naturally, Luo Qingyao would never admit that her true purpose was to have Yun Yi protect her father. After all, she had wounded Lan Ruoshui, and given Lan Ruoshui’s temperament, she would certainly not let the matter rest.

Luo Qingyao herself feared nothing. She was only afraid that her father—the one family member she had left—would be harmed.

Yun Yi naturally understood her intentions, but he did not expose her.

After all, he had already been planning to visit the Luo residence. As the saying went, the brightest moon could be reached from the tower nearest to it. Only by staying with his little Yaoyao every day would he have more opportunities to “get closer” to her—and take greater advantage of her.
