Si Tang pushed away the glass of wine set before her. The liquid inside sloshed, spilling a few drops onto the table, which gleamed sharply under the multicolored lights.
“I’m not drinking,” she said coldly, her tone clearly rejecting.
The greasy man persisted, wearing a nauseating fake smile. “Beautiful lady, don’t be so ungracious. Just one drink.” As he spoke, he reached to grab Si Tang’s wrist, trying to force the wine down her throat.
Si Tang jerked her hand away with force, her brows knitting tightly, a flicker of disgust flashing in her eyes. “I said, I’m not drinking.”
“Oh, quite a fiery one,” the greasy man teased, his gaze shamelessly roaming over her.
“Refuse a toast and you’ll have to drink the penalty. Don’t blame me for being impolite.”
He reached out again, this time more roughly, grabbing at Si Tang’s collar.
The two locked in a tense struggle, and amid the scuffle, Si Tang was forced to swallow a mouthful of spiked wine.
At the same moment, Tan Yin was being harassed by another lecherous man. Though her mind was still relatively clear, she was too weak to fight back and could only try to dodge him awkwardly.
The noisy music, flashing lights, and crowded throng all pressed down on her like suffocating weight.
Gu Yubai weaved through the dance floor, searching desperately for Si Tang’s figure.
Shen Ming’an’s words echoed relentlessly in his mind—Si Tang really was here? Why had she come?
The drug took effect quickly; Si Tang’s head spun, and everything around her blurred.
Seeing this, the greasy man smirked triumphantly, about to make his move again, but was suddenly yanked away by a powerful arm.
Gu Yubai stood before Si Tang, his face dark and menacing.
With a punch, he struck the greasy man’s face, blood spurting from his nose as he collapsed to the floor, wailing.
The crowd was stunned by the sudden violence, retreating to clear a space around them.
The greasy man tried to curse at Gu Yubai as he got up, but the lethal glare froze him in place, making him retreat in fear.
“Mr. Lu...”
“Get lost!” Gu Yubai’s eyes were like poisoned blades piercing into the man.
The greasy man scrambled away, crawling and rolling to escape.
Gu Yubai then turned to Si Tang, his anger flaring inexplicably. He grabbed her roughly, his voice icy: “Come with me!”
Si Tang staggered, barely able to stand. She leaned drowsily against Gu Yubai, mumbling indistinctly.
The drug was coursing through her veins, her body burning with heat. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around Gu Yubai’s neck, clinging to him like a koala.

Gu Yubai’s body stiffened for a moment, then an inexplicable current surged through him where they touched.
Si Tang’s soft body, faintly scented with wine, pressed tightly against him, almost suffocating him.
He lowered his gaze to the face so close—Si Tang’s cheeks flushed pink, her eyes glazed, long lashes trembling slightly, like a frightened fawn.
Watching her restless movements in his arms, a suppressed storm rose in his heart.
The subtle fragrance she exuded mingled with the scent of wine, stirring an unfamiliar flutter deep within him.
Si Tang’s warm, hurried breaths brushed his neck.
Her soft body pressed close, sending an unusual electric pulse through him.
He could almost feel the delicate warmth of her skin, loosening the tension that had gripped him tightly.
Under the dim light, her rosy cheeks and dreamy eyes made his heart jolt.
An indescribable tenderness surged inside him.
He gazed at her red lips, suddenly tempted to kiss her, but reason wrestled back control, pulling him away.
Images of her avoiding him, the disdain she held for him, flooded his mind—he was well aware how much she disliked him.
Gu Yubai took a deep breath, suppressing the impulse, then lifted Si Tang into his arms and strode out of the noisy bar.
By the time Tan Yin shook off her pursuer, she saw only their overlapping figures retreating.
Damn it! She had let Gu Yubai take Si Tang away.
The driver was already waiting outside; Gu Yubai placed the restless woman in the passenger seat and got in himself.
“To the mountaintop villa,” he ordered coldly.
No sooner had they seated than Si Tang leaned toward him, her delicate brows furrowing in small waves.
“Hot... so hot... water!” she murmured, lips barely moving.
Gu Yubai picked up the bottled water next to him and fed her some, his movements involuntarily gentle, though a few drops spilled.
Clear droplets glistened at her mouth’s corner, tracing down her exquisite chin.
He felt as if he had been seduced without cause; a tingling sensation flared like a kitten’s scratch. His hand trembled slightly, reason straining like a taut string.
Si Tang’s heated breath brushed over his hand, and she nestled closer, letting out a soft sigh of comfort.
It wasn’t thirst—it was a primal, bodily desire...

Her consciousness blurred, unable to recognize the man before her.
“Si Tang, behave!” Gu Yubai gritted his teeth.
Fueled by a sudden fire, he cursed inwardly, then took off his jacket, wrapping her completely before holding her firmly.
“Drive faster!” he barked sharply at the driver.
Soon, they arrived at the villa. He carried her inside and laid her on the bed. Seeing her curled up from the drug’s effects, his brows knitted tightly.
Gu Yubai summoned his private doctor, who began administering an IV drip.
“Mr. Lu, that aphrodisiac—its potency was strong. I’ve injected an antidote; she should be alright now,” the doctor reported.
Gu Yubai nodded, waving the doctor away. He sat beside the bed, quietly watching over Si Tang.
After an unknown length of time, he left the room and retreated to his study, where he spent the night without sleep.
*
When Si Tang woke, daylight flooded the room. Her head pounded fiercely, her body weak.
She opened her eyes groggily; familiar surroundings came into view—cream-colored wallpaper, pale gray curtains, and the large bed she had slept in countless times before.
This was... Gu Yubai’s villa?
She sat up sharply, heart pounding wildly as fragmented memories rushed in—the bar, the greasy man, and... Gu Yubai.
How had she ended up here?
Suddenly, her phone rang, snapping her back from the haze. It was Tan Yin, with over a dozen missed calls already.
Si Tang answered, and Tan Yin’s anxious voice came through instantly: “Si Tang! Are you alright?”
“I... I’m fine,” Si Tang’s voice was hoarse.
“Last night, Gu Yubai took you away. You drank spiked wine, but luckily he arrived just in time...” Tan Yin explained, her tone trembling with fear.
“Last night... he even shielded me from the wine?” Si Tang asked hesitantly, disbelief lacing her voice.
“Of course! If it weren’t for Gu Yubai, you would’ve been...” Tan Yin’s voice faltered, “That scumbag man actually showed some responsibility. As long as you weren’t harmed, that’s what matters.”
Si Tang replied dryly, “I’m currently at his villa.”
