Chapter 16: The Disposable Fiancée (16)
“No way. Yun Jin has loved me for so many years; she wouldn’t betray me.”
Seven years had shown Fu Han the depth of Yun Jin’s love for him.
Anyone in this world might betray him, but Yun Jin never would.
It was because of this certainty that Fu Han recklessly drained the love Yun Jin gave him.
Yet he never imagined that love could be completely exhausted.
An Cheng grew anxious. “I’m telling the truth. Everyone saw it at the wedding. If you don’t believe me, ask Song Xiao.”
Right, since he couldn’t reach Yun Jin now, he could still contact Song Xiao.
Fu Han immediately called. “Is Yun Jin still with you?”
Song Xiao’s tone was harsh: “Go hang out with your mistress. Yun Jin has nothing to do with you anymore.”
“Murong isn’t the mistress.”
“So you mean Yun Jin is the mistress?” Song Xiao exploded. “Fu Han, you’ve known Yun Jin since childhood. She loved you for all those years. If you didn’t like her, you should have said so long ago. Why run off and ruin the wedding, breaking her heart?”
“I can’t explain this to you. Just tell her to stop making a scene. She should be a good Mrs. Fu, turning a blind eye once in a while.”
Why must he choose between two women? Couldn’t he be like his father, embracing both sides?
“Beep beep.”
Realizing Song Xiao had hung up, Fu Han’s face darkened with fury.
An Cheng’s words echoed in his mind, making his chest feel heavy.
He called Song Xiao again. “Tell me, when Yun Jin left the wedding with Xie Yanci, where did they go?”
“What’s it to you? If you like Su Murong so much, then I wish you both well. Just don’t come back to cause trouble.”
After saying that, Song Xiao slammed the phone down and promptly blocked Fu Han.
“Smash.”
Fu Han’s phone shattered into pieces. Su Murong, who had been feigning sleep in the hospital room, was fully awakened.
The hospital room’s poor soundproofing allowed her to overhear much of Fu Han’s conversation with Song Xiao.
In short, Fu Han wanted it all.
He couldn’t let go of her tenderness, yet still wanted Yun Jin as his wife.
Su Murong despised herself for not being born into the Yun family.
If she had been a Yun heiress, she wouldn’t need to resort to risky moves.
She could have openly been Fu Han’s wife, instead of an unnamed mistress.
Lowering her head, she touched her belly, formulating a plan.
She coughed twice. Fu Han, standing outside the room, heard the sound and came inside.
“Rongrong, you’re awake?”
Seeing her weak state, a flicker of tenderness appeared in Fu Han’s eyes.
He held her close and patted her back. “It’s okay now. Rest well. I’ll go for now.”
“Don’t go.”
Su Murong nestled against him. “Han, I have to tell you something—I’m pregnant.”
What?
Fu Han was stunned, unable to react immediately.
She meant there was a child of his growing inside her?
Wonderful. The one he loved most, Murong, was carrying his child.
Overjoyed, Fu Han spun Su Murong around twice.
“Han, put me down,” she pounded him lightly, teasing, “Don’t scare the baby.”
“Sorry, I’m just too excited. This is my first time being a father, I—” Fu Han’s words stumbled, but all his frustration vanished, replaced by joy.
After the joy, the thought of Su Murong’s status made his expression uneasy.
Since Su Murong was carrying his child, she could no longer be his mistress.
He couldn’t bear for the child to be looked down upon as illegitimate.
But giving up Yun Jin, his dutiful wife, made him reluctant.
After much thought, he realized he couldn’t decide.
Su Murong saw Fu Han’s worries and sighed. “Han, I won’t make things difficult for you. I love you. As long as I can be with you, I’m willing to be the mistress.”
Fu Han covered her mouth gently, eyes full of affection. “You’re not the mistress; Yun Jin is. Don’t worry, I’ll treat you well.”
Fu Han’s way of treating Su Murong well was by giving her houses and cars.
Su Murong gladly accepted his gifts and, the next day, proudly went to work, belly showing, to find Yun Jin.
Since working at Fu Corporation, Su Murong, backed by Fu Han, frequently slacked off.
Her department leaders dared not speak out and had to distribute her work among others.
She saw Yun Jin still at her desk sketching designs, approached, tapped her desk, and said, “Come with me. I have something to discuss.”
“I have nothing to discuss with a mistress,” Yun Jin replied coldly.
Su Murong laughed, not angry. “In love, the one who isn’t loved is the mistress. Yun Jin, I hope you realize your true identity—you’re Yun the Mistress.”
Seeing Yun Jin’s displeased expression, she smirked triumphantly. “Why look at me? These are Han’s words. If you have the guts, confront him yourself.”
“Damn idiot, what the hell do you want?” Yun Jin thought, hating this job more each day.
Work piled up, and she had to endure watching this scumbag and that shameless woman flaunt their love in front of her. Utterly cursed.
She resolved to urge her boss to hire someone quickly, so she could train the newcomer and leave.
Fuming, Yun Jin followed Su Murong into a small room.
Once the door closed, Su Murong dropped the act, looking at her with contempt. “I want you to leave Fu Han.”
When Yun Jin remained unmoved, Su Murong touched her belly and continued, “There’s already Han’s flesh and blood here—the future firstborn son of the Fu family.
“Since you used to be my best friend, I advise you to cut ties with Han early.
“You don’t want to be the one Han actively throws away, do you?”
Satisfied with her words, Su Murong covered her mouth in feigned shock. “I wonder if a proud Yun family heiress like you can handle that?”
Yun Jin laughed instead of getting angry. “Not all illegitimate children qualify to be called firstborns. If you had studied more in school instead of farming, maybe your IQ wouldn’t be negative now.
“The daughter of a housekeeper wants to be Fu Han’s wife? Do you have that right? Go wash up and sleep—you’ll find everything you want in your dreams. They’ll satisfy your fantasies, for sure.”
Su Murong snorted coldly. “Even if you don’t admit it, so what? As long as Han’s heart is with me, he’ll dump you sooner or later and make me his wife. And you? You’ll be a pitiful loser, oppressed by me your whole life, never rising.”
“Oh? Is that so?”
Yun Jin pulled out her phone, a half-smile playing on her lips. “Let me call my future mother-in-law to confirm whether she wants you or me. You don’t really believe that whoever gives birth to a son automatically inherits the Fu family, do you? You’re really that naive?”
Su Murong’s attempt to catch her phone back failed miserably.
Yun Jin grabbed her hand and, with a swift motion, slapped her across the face.
Su Murong clutched her stunned cheek, disbelief flooding her.
“You actually dared to hit me?”
