Chapter Forty-Nine: Tang Yi's First Time
“Mr. Bu, you certainly have vast knowledge. Yes, this is indeed the Tianying Fruit, and I have come here from the Pegasus Galaxy,” Bai Dongfang answered truthfully.
“Haha, that's wonderful! Since you’re from the Pegasus Galaxy, you must have brought some specialties from there. Surely you've heard of my reputation as the auctioneer of Not-White Auction House here in Moon City. If you let me auction your specialties, I guarantee you'll get a good price,” Bu Bailai said, never straying from his profession.
“Mr. Bu, that's absolutely not a problem. But could you first answer the question I asked earlier?” Bai Dongfang urged.
“Young man, there's no need to be so impatient. Let's discuss the matter of auctioning your specialties first, then we can talk about the other issue,” Bu Bailai replied, wholly dedicated to his business.
“Mr. Bu…” Bai Dongfang wanted to protest, but Bu Bailai cut him off immediately. “Alright, young man, the person you’re carrying on your back is in grave danger, isn't he? Once we settle this auction business, I’ll tell you everything you need to know. I promise you'll be satisfied!”
With no choice, having to rely on Bu Bailai, Bai Dongfang agreed to settle the auction of his specialties first. Fortunately, he had plenty of unusual items with him, so whichever he picked out caused Bu Bailai to be overjoyed.
In the VIP room of Not-White Auction House, Bu Bailai and Bai Dongfang were sipping tea, with the coffin standing upright beside Bai Dongfang. At Bu Bailai’s suggestion, Bai Dongfang briefly explained the injuries that Li Zhan had suffered.
“Oh, so it seems the Millennial Ice Pearl is indeed a rare treasure!” Bu Bailai commented after hearing Bai Dongfang’s account.
“Um, Mr. Bu, I don’t actually have a Millennial Ice Pearl,” Bai Dongfang explained quickly.
“Ahem, I was just speaking out of emotion. No need to mind it!” Bu Bailai replied, slightly embarrassed.
“Mr. Bu, didn’t you say earlier you would tell me about the spiritual medicine that could save my elder brother?” Bai Dongfang seized the opportunity to press him.
“Oh, yes, yes, my apologies. Let me explain now. This medicine that can bring someone back from the brink of death is something rare and elusive. Our auction house has been in business for over ten thousand years, but the number of times such a spiritual medicine has been auctioned can be counted on two hands. Moreover, as you know, cultivation now is several times more advanced than it was ten thousand years ago, and your elder brother has less than ten months left. In such a short time, finding this medicine is virtually impossible.”
“Then my elder brother is doomed!” Bai Dongfang felt his hopes collapse as he listened to Bu Bailai.
“Haha, you need not despair! Even without spiritual medicine, your elder brother might still be saved!” Bu Bailai laughed, trying to comfort him.
“Really? Please, Mr. Bu, enlighten me,” Bai Dongfang’s hope reignited, determined to seize any chance to save his brother.
“Brother Bai, on your journey here, you must have heard of Tang Ge, right?” Bu Bailai asked.
“Are you referring to Tang Yi, the owner of Tang Group?” Bai Dongfang replied, puzzled as to what connection Tang Yi had to saving his brother.
“Yes, exactly. Do you know Tang Ge’s other nickname?” Bu Bailai teased.
“Tang Ge is also known as the Divine Physician!” Bu Bailai declared when Bai Dongfang didn’t reply. Hearing this, Bai Dongfang’s expression dimmed again. What use was a Divine Physician? There were plenty of them in the Pegasus Galaxy, and none could do anything about these injuries!
“Brother Bai, I know you’re skeptical. Coming from the Pegasus Galaxy, you may not understand. Tang Ge’s medical skills are beyond your imagination. Recently, people have been talking about Tang Group’s communicators and rapid cultivation courtyards, but before that, everyone was discussing Tang Ge’s medical prowess. You can go and ask around, and when you’re convinced, come find me. I have Tang Yi’s private number!” Bu Bailai was willing to share all this only because Bai Dongfang had brought so many specialties to auction.
“Very well, I’ll take my leave for now,” Bai Dongfang said, hoisting the coffin onto his back and striding away, beginning his inquiries about Tang Yi.
…
“Tang Ge, where’s our first destination?” On the plaza of Flying Cloud Peak, Hua Shaojie asked Tang Yi. After the meeting, it was decided that Hua Shaojie, Lü Zhengyang, and Ding Pengfei would accompany Tang Yi on the journey.
“Wait a moment. Mingde, how many sets of the communication relay stations, which began production before the New Year, have been manufactured?” Tang Yi asked Liu Mingde, who was now in charge of Tang Group’s production department.
“As of yesterday, fifteen sets have been produced. All have passed inspection and can operate normally,” Liu Mingde replied.
“Good, fifteen sets should suffice. Shaojie, go with Mingde to the finished goods warehouse and load the relay stations into the rings. This time, we’ll take care of the relay stations as well—killing two birds with one stone,” Tang Yi instructed Hua Shaojie, who then left with Liu Mingde to pack the relay stations.
“All right, Ruoxue, Zhengyang, and Pengfei, stay here. Everyone else, get back to your tasks,” Tang Yi said, dismissing the others. Once they had left, Tang Yi grinned and took out his latest creation from his ring—not just something he’d worked on in recent days, but a project dating back much earlier: a spaceship!
“Tang Ge, what is this called?” Hua Ruoxue asked curiously, seeing a massive, unfamiliar object appear on the plaza.
“Yes, Tang Ge, this thing is so strange—it looks like two giant plates stacked together,” Lü Zhengyang remarked, equally baffled.
“Hehe, let me tell you. This is called a spaceship! Also known as a flying saucer! Isn’t it cool?” Tang Yi boasted.
“It’s silver-gray, cold and uninviting—no good! If it were pink, it’d be much better,” Hua Ruoxue commented from her feminine perspective.
“I think it’s awesome!” Hua Shaojie had returned to the plaza and, seeing the flying saucer, immediately wanted one for himself. He said to Tang Yi, “Tang Ge, when will you make one for me?”
Tang Yi laughed and replied, “Sure, with your current annual salary, if you work for me for a hundred thousand years or so, I’ll consider it.”
“In that case, forget it.” Hua Shaojie rolled his eyes. A hundred thousand years… not even for all the treasure in the world.
“Alright, everyone, if you’re ready, let’s board the spaceship!” At Tang Yi’s gesture, the flying saucer opened its cargo bay. The five of them entered the vessel.
“Wow, this place is so beautiful!” Tang Yi led Hua Ruoxue into a room designed just for her.
“Do you like it?” Tang Yi asked with a smile.
“I love it! Thank you, Tang Ge!” Hua Ruoxue was overjoyed, embraced Tang Yi, and planted a kiss on his cheek… It was the first time Tang Yi had ever been kissed by a girl in his life.
