Chapter 10: Sorry, I’m on a whole other level this time!

Chapter 10: Sorry, This Time I’m in the Atmosphere!
“What is Elk doing this time? Missing every single minion?” Jide couldn’t believe his eyes and exclaimed aloud.
In terms of absurdity, Elk missing all the minions in one wave was on par with Shaqima’s Thresh pulling off an unbelievable outplay in the opening phase.
But the thing with Thresh was flashy skill. Elk’s... well, it was also flashy, though more like a fiery stir-fry explosion—the dish was already 70% cooked.
Returning focus to the game.
For Cheng Xian, the support item was good, but greed was forbidden.
If Cheng Xian wished, given his S-tier form, he could easily have Elk not secure a single last hit in the bottom lane during the laning phase.
But that would be too ridiculous.
You can’t expect a Bronze player to not get any minions during the entire laning phase in a competitive match.
That would be provoking.
“Don’t give up, I’m coming!”
*Clap!*
...
Although Elk could not be allowed to miss every last hit, their AD carry could at least secure each minion steadily!
“What? Brother Xian, what did you say?” Wink was happily farming and didn’t hear clearly.
“Follow me quickly!” Cheng Xian shouted.
Wink’s minion count increased by one.
“Wink, this big goof is definitely going to miss this last hit!”
At this rate, the game would end before they fully stacked their resources.
Seeing the situation, Xun flashed without hesitation, charging down from above the dragon pit.
This game, he had no intention of letting Wink get any minions.
The three from WE’s team saw their health plunge like a cliff drop.
Chaos erupted in team voice chat, and the three scattered like birds and beasts startled.
Just then, Jide’s voice rose even higher: “He’s bypassed another ward!!! Thresh used his Q to hook the just-refreshed blue buff and repositioned, narrowly avoiding WE’s deep vision, circling through the space between their mid lane first and second towers!! WE has no pings! They clearly didn’t spot Thresh’s movement! What is this player doing???”
No sooner had he spoken than Thresh landed a basic attack, snatching away Draven’s siege minion.
Sadly, this state of play was only effective inside the game; who knew if future system upgrades could impact reality.
“Stop hoping, I said scatter quickly!”
Olaf reached level six and activated Ragnarok, his body soaked in glowing red dragon blood, roaring “Demacia!” as he charged into the fray like an enraged berserker, swinging wildly.
After circling a few times, he threw his axe.
Cheng Xian kept a sharp eye on the enemy minion wave.
Wink: “???”
Trying to leave now?
Such ruthless healing...
The mechanical puppet instantly expanded into a dozen iron petals, spinning fast before snapping shut with a powerful hex magnetic field, pulling three enemies to the center and dealing massive burst damage.
Thresh’s Q connected twenty times this match.
Before leaving, Cheng Xian reminded the team.
At the moment Gwen vanished, TheShy pinged immediately and alerted the team: “Gwen, maybe, in the jungle, gone.”
“Be careful in the bottom lane, I’ll place some wards, don’t...”—before finishing his sentence, Cheng Xian stopped abruptly.
Just as he was about to flash, the ghostly azure figure began shaking its chains, emitting a bone-chilling creaking sound.
“Oh, I mean, you can die however you want, I’m ganking other lanes, bye.”
First blood!!
Page 2/3
With the piercing alert sound, Sadness’s scalp tingled, eyes wide with shock.
This Thresh’s jaw-dropping ward bypass truly amazed everyone.
If only he had such skills before, getting into Tsinghua or Peking University wouldn’t be a joke; acing every exam would be easy!
But it was already too late!
This team fight was impossible to take.
Even if he frantically healed himself, he couldn’t reach with his Q.
The pale blue-gray chain twirled in his hand like a Western cowboy’s lasso, then aimed toward the blind spot by the dragon pit below.
Unable to find an opening in the bottom lane, Cheng Xian glanced at his daily tasks.
From the god’s-eye view, the wards of WE were crystal clear to the casters and audience.
With advantages shifting, the bottom lane’s economic gap would widen swiftly, wouldn’t it?
Seeing a low-health minion, he muttered mentally.
This must be a curse!
It must be the grudge from missing that last wave of minions this game!
...
Because the distance was truly out of Q's reach...
A crisp sound rang out.
Rookie looked up to see the ghostly azure figure of the jailer, wielding the Death’s Chain, already near the explosive ward above the vanguard minion.
“Wink definitely won’t get that last hit.”
Especially since Ezreal’s long range meant he was constantly poking minions from afar.
The target was—
If he truly let Elk get healed to that degree, Elk would surely be scrutinized for match-fixing, and no defense would save him.
“Thresh missed! Thresh missed! Watch out! Don’t fight the dragon pit first!” Jungler Sadness shouted loudly.
From now on, wherever you go, mind your tone when talking to me, hmph!
“But WE’s bottom lane wards are well placed. This game, their duo lane is seemingly abandoned but surprisingly stable. Though Elk’s CS is low, it’s steady. Missing lit up river vision, leaving only small shadowed areas. Thresh’s path might be fully tracked by WE... wait!! He bypassed the wards!!”
The hook hit the enemy Graves with precision.
This meant WE had three players contesting the dragon pit, while IG had only two counting jungler and mid.
“...What?? Thresh wasn’t visible in river vision; how did he get to the top lane??”
Meanwhile, WE’s team voice chat.
But the warnings aside, the two waves of top lane minions had pushed into the tower, so no movement was possible.
As the Q skill hit, a cold lantern was thrown beside Orianna, approaching the dragon pit.
The entire figure dove into the dragon pit, bringing Orianna along.
Wink’s voice came over the comms, smug with satisfaction.
Rita added:
“At six and a half minutes, the first elemental dragon is Earth Dragon, and the Rift Herald is still alive. Neither jungler has made a move yet, but the first jungle objective contest is likely imminent. This patch heavily favors the Rift Herald over the first elemental dragon—even the Fire Dragon is less valuable than the Rift Herald. Meanwhile, Gwen’s early laning phase is all skill-based, firmly pressuring TheShy’s Viego. Looks like once Gwen pushes the wave, WE’s top, mid, and jungle might launch an assault on the Rift Herald... Huh? IG’s Thresh is moving! Shaqima must have noticed WE’s potential play around the Rift Herald—sharp instincts!” Jide narrated the unfolding situation, then caught sight of Thresh moving toward mid lane.
The subtle sound signaled a precise chain strike, taking away the last sliver of health from Graves.
Death Sentence!
Rush the Rift Herald quickly!
Then knock down the top lane first tower, freeing Gwen to roam with the jungler and open the map.
This was definitely not his doing... He had just cursed Elk by not letting him get minions, only to immediately lose one himself.
“The Rift Herald has to be given up, we’ll take the dragon later.” Rookie, as team captain, spoke, and Cheng Xian responded immediately.
Command: Shockwave!
Then let Elk miss a few more minions occasionally.
Page 3/3
Missing quickly replied: “Go for it! He’s recalled! Don’t panic, you can take the Rift Herald now! I placed two wards down the river, blocking his path. He hasn’t appeared all this time; he must be shopping and heading top. This is the window to rush the Rift Herald!”
Graves’ flash landing spot!
If the Q hits, things will go really badly.
Blue lantern iron chains seek the lost soul; no gates to heaven, only graves in hell!
Wink’s minion count +1.
Three minutes later.
*Clap!*
The team agreed to push the wave forward; Sylas in mid also moved toward the Rift Herald.
“Sure enough, you only appreciate it after losing it,” Cheng Xian teased with a smile.
But what he didn’t notice was...
Time to find a living elsewhere.
Orianna flashed in close; Rookie pressed his ultimate hard.
IG got this info instantly.
But from IG’s perspective, their wards—both trinket and control—were either invisible or hidden in grass, unseen by IG itself.
“Auto attack,” Cheng Xian coughed awkwardly, explaining.
“Oh, right.” Cheng Xian suddenly had a bright idea.
If he healed properly, Wink wouldn’t die eight times—he’d feel he wasn’t doing his job poisoning the minion farm.
“What!! Who the hell said Thresh recalled!!”
Wink’s face instantly changed, tight with tension, afraid Cheng Xian would steal his minions again.
Q skill, Death Sentence!
“Don’t panic, I’m not taking your minions, I’m not that kind of person,” Cheng Xian said seriously.
“Great hook!!” Rookie’s eyes lit up, right-clicking the lantern as Cheng Xian pressed the second part of Q.
Early game, all peacefully farming, Cheng Xian’s poisonous healing was powerful. But it only worked if the target was actually available.
The three from WE’s top, mid, and jungle, happily fighting in the dragon pit, were stunned at the sight of Thresh and Orianna jumping in.
“Ok ok, let’s fight! Gwen’s coming!”
In League of Legends, ward placement is invaluable; many ganks or resource grabs rely on vision control.
“Coming!”
Cheng Xian was here to play, to win, not to destroy other players in his own region.
“Brother Xian, look at my CS this game! 41 minions at 4 minutes! The enemy AD only has 23, ridiculous.”
At this point, WE’s intentions were clear.
“Can’t fight!! This Thresh is too clutch!! He even brought Orianna down, run!! Flash out!!” Sadness said, watching his health bar vanish, gritting his teeth and flashing away from the dragon pit.
“You...” Wink’s lips trembled; Thresh’s passive from his starter items already took every possible last hit; he hadn’t gotten a single siege minion.
In this game’s early phase, the enemy Ezreal and Braum were extra cautious, keeping a wide distance from their Thresh.
“How did he predict that???”
“Didn’t you say he only knows how to play Lux???”
