Chapter 15: Yun Zhu's Shock
Not far from here, inside a certain cave, Yun Zhu gazed blankly at everything around her.
She realized she had been reborn.
Reborn at a time when she had lost everything, before Chu Youyou had arrived at the Winged Tiger tribe.
In her previous life, she was framed and betrayed by Chu Youyou, which led to her becoming the tribe’s public female, subjected to endless torment until death.
Though she believed she deserved her fate, the searing pain and hatred remained as vivid as if it had happened yesterday.
She had never imagined she would get a second chance at life.
“Hahaha…”
Yun Zhu sat on the stone bed, laughing loudly and wildly, tears streaming down her face as she laughed.
Through gritted teeth, she said, “Heaven truly has eyes. Chu Youyou, this time in this life, we shall compete once more, and I absolutely will not lose to you again.”
In her past life, Chu Youyou knew certain skills and knowledge. This time around, Yun Zhu knew them too. Once she prepared those things in advance, she wondered how Chu Youyou could possibly attract Mu Han.
Just with that rather pale face?
In her previous life, she had been utterly infatuated with Mu Han. She had spared no means to become his mate, only to end up in such a tragic fate.
Meanwhile, Chu Youyou had trampled over her corpse, basking in the love and favor of Mu Han and many other beast men, living a happy and fulfilling life.
How she hated her!
Fortunately, she had been reborn. There was still time.
Yun Zhu rose from the bed, her eyes cold and filled with resentment.
This lifetime, she would never lose to Chu Youyou again. She would reclaim everything that was rightfully hers and make that deceitful, venomous female taste the agony of a life worse than death.
She stepped out of the cave to gather information about the current situation.
But not long after leaving, she overheard some females gossiping.
“Have you heard? Mu Han brought back an incredibly beautiful female and even let her live in his cave.”
“Really? What does she look like? Is she prettier than Yun Zhu?”
“That’s impossible. Yun Zhu is the most beautiful female in our tribe. No one can compare to her. But the new female is indeed quite pretty—her skin is especially fair, unlike any of us.”
…
All these words entered Yun Zhu’s ears, causing her expression to shift slightly as a bad feeling surged within her.
Mu Han brought back a female? And she’s living in his cave? Fair-skinned?
Could it be Chu Youyou?
Yun Zhu frowned. That didn’t make sense. In the previous life, Chu Youyou should have been in the Wolf tribe at this time. Why would she suddenly appear in the Winged Tiger tribe? And be brought back by Mu Han?
Regardless of whether the female brought back was Chu Youyou or not, she had to find out what was going on.
Her heart raced as she hurried toward Mu Han’s cave.
Luckily, it wasn’t far, and she soon arrived.
She immediately saw Chu Youyou sitting on the stone bed, looking confusedly at her.
Yun Zhu was struck as if by lightning, shock and disbelief written all over her face.
Chu Youyou.
It was actually her?
The same deceitful and malicious female who had caused her such misery in the past life was really here in the Winged Tiger tribe ahead of schedule?
What was going on? Why was it different from before?
Was her memory mistaken, or had something happened that she didn’t know about?
Yun Zhu’s mind was in turmoil, unable to comprehend the situation.
But seeing Chu Youyou, her hatred surged fiercely, her eyes almost shooting flames.
She stared at Chu Youyou as if she wanted to tear her into pieces right then and there.
She couldn’t act impulsively. If she harmed Chu Youyou, Mu Han would surely be the first not to forgive her.
The lessons from her past life were more than enough. She never wanted to repeat them.
Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to restrain her anger.
Chu Youyou looked at Yun Zhu blankly. She didn’t recognize this woman but found her staring oddly without speaking.
She knew she was a female from the Winged Tiger tribe but didn’t understand why she was here.
Could she be Mu Han’s mate?
At the thought, she felt a bit unhappy.
But then realized it didn’t make sense. If Mu Han had a mate, why would he bring her to his cave to live?
“Who are you? What do you want from Mu Han? He’s not here right now,” Chu Youyou said, rising from the stone bed and looking at Yun Zhu with unfamiliar eyes, cautiously speaking.
Hearing her words, Yun Zhu wished she could tear that hypocritical face apart, but she held back.
She curled her lips into a forced smile, stiff and unnatural, trying to sound calm.
“You must be the female Mu Han brought back, right? You’re really beautiful. I’ve never seen anyone as pretty as you.”
Chu Youyou was pleased by the compliment. “Thank you, you’re also very beautiful.”
The female before her was indeed very pretty. Her skin wasn’t snow white but a healthy wheat color. Tall and sexy, with a curvaceous figure—slim where she should be, full where she should be, almost bursting.
Her features were delicate and sharp, her amber eyes bright, and her golden hair like seaweed loosely tied. She wore a tight beast-skin skirt, looking somewhat Western in appearance.
Completely different from herself.
She secretly curled her lips. Men generally liked petite, delicate women with gentle charm like those from the Jiangnan water towns. This female, though pretty, was too tall and broad-shouldered. Men probably wouldn’t like her.
She also wouldn’t inspire any protective instincts. Thinking that, Yun Zhu felt confident again.
Listening to her, Yun Zhu’s hatred boiled over. This hypocritical female was always pretending.
“Thank you for the compliment. You’re beautiful too, especially your skin—it’s really fair, not like ours. Mu Han will definitely like it.”
Chu Youyou blushed shyly but smiled even more happily. “Really? I think my skin is quite fair too. Mu Han says I’m beautiful.”
Seeing her so smug and unguarded, Yun Zhu felt a swell of hatred but said no more.
She feared that if she kept talking, she might lose control and tear the other apart.
After a few polite words, she hurriedly left.
She needed to find edible food, weave baskets, make pottery, prepare delicious meals, and build houses before Chu Youyou could make those things.
Once she had crafted everything, the credit would be hers.
Then there would be no need to worry about Chu Youyou.
She had seen Chu Youyou do these things before and remembered how to do them.
Chu Youyou, unaware of these matters, was indifferent after Yun Zhu left, thinking she was just a curious tribe female coming to look at her.
Su Xiyue was unaware of what happened in the Winged Tiger tribe. At this moment, she was happily gathering supplies in the Taguer Forest.
Her basket was already full. She had placed it beneath the chestnut tree she had used earlier, planning to bring it back later.
Today, she had found a cabbage patch, with each cabbage large enough to feed her for several days. She had picked them all.
Her four baskets were filled to the brim with cabbages, along with plenty of wild vegetables like water celery, shepherd's purse, and bracken.
She had also collected various mushrooms: shiitake, black fungus, enoki, king oyster, tea tree mushrooms, bamboo fungus, and more...
She even found a cluster of silver ear fungus.
The Taguer Forest was vast and rich in fungi—thick, plump, juicy, and especially large, untouched by anyone before.
