Chapter Seventy-One: Raised by My Own Hands
Liu Jingye felt he had no reason to refuse someone who loved her work so much. Besides, she had just lost her job and was simply trying to support herself legitimately, relying on her own abilities. If she were to join his inn, it would not only have no negative impact, but might even boost his business.
So, rather muddle-headedly, Liu Jingye agreed, mainly swayed by her offer to “show what she could do.” Humming a tune, he cheerfully familiarized himself with the place, changed into clean clothes, and half an hour later, the front door swung open and a woman walked in.
At the first glance, Liu Jingye was stunned, though he hadn’t even looked at her face—his eyes were fixed below her neck. The very definition of alluring, voluptuous, curvaceous, and graceful—all of it was embodied perfectly in the figure before him.
“Hello, boss,” the woman’s voice was distinctive, slightly sharp, pitched high, reminiscent of certain intimate murmurs.
A shiver ran through Liu Jingye’s body as he reluctantly tore his gaze away from her incredible figure, fearing he might lose control and bury himself in those mountainous curves.
When he finally looked up, he was dazzled. Just as she had described over the phone, her “hardware” was top-tier: if her figure was S-class, then her looks were at least an A+. She had long, golden, wavy hair, her makeup heavy enough to slightly obscure her features, but still, those big eyes, high nose, and delicate lips were flawless—enough to make many men fall for her at first sight. Yet, to Liu Jingye, there was something slightly off about her face—had she perhaps had work done?
“Hello, miss,” Liu Jingye swallowed and forced a smile, trying not to seem so awkward.
The woman wore a strappy dress that couldn’t hope to contain her fiery figure. Lin Shengnan, too, had an impressive bust, and by the looks of it, the two were evenly matched in size. But they were of different types: Lin Shengnan was the soft, delicate kind, while this woman was explosive, as if she had two basketballs—firm and perky.
“You’ve got a lovely setting here—green hills and clear water,” the woman said, glancing around. “The inn is clean, too. I bet the guests here are all wealthy city tourists, so I’ve decided to stay for the whole summer. Apart from a sixty-forty split after business, I’ll also pay you rent.”
“Of course, of course,” Liu Jingye was still in shock, unable to extricate himself.
“That’s settled, then. Boss, want to try a sample of my work?” she asked forthrightly.
Liu Jingye froze, her words echoing in his ears. Recently, women had been coming and going in his life like a revolving door, thoroughly teasing the restless youth in him. He was brimming with energy, and if he didn’t find release, he feared he might do himself harm.
He gazed at her seductive face, swallowing hard, and was just about to nod in agreement when his phone suddenly rang, startling him.
He glanced at the screen—it was Yuan Xiaoying. Liu Jingye gave an embarrassed laugh, stepped outside to answer.
He picked up, cautious and a little guilty. Yuan Xiaoying’s tone was as usual: “Hey, what are you up to, you rascal?”
“Almost got into trouble,” Liu Jingye replied weakly.
“You pervert, you’re impossible!” Yuan Xiaoying scolded. “Can’t you behave yourself?”
“I’m a perfectly decent man,” Liu Jingye protested.
“What are you really doing?” she pressed.
“Watching the shop.”
“Miss me?” Yuan Xiaoying hesitated, then asked quietly. Since they had established their relationship but couldn’t meet, a little playful banter over the phone was inevitable. Besides, it was easier to let loose in spirit when separated by a line.
Liu Jingye was direct: “I’m always thinking of you!”
“And when you’re not… upright?” Yuan Xiaoying asked, her words full of hidden meaning.
Liu Jingye was momentarily speechless—she was even more wicked than he was. Ever since their passionate, relationship-sealing kiss, she had become increasingly uninhibited. If they ever went all the way, she would surely reveal her true colors. He couldn’t help but wonder what she would be like then.
He was filled with anticipation. Yuan Xiaoying said, “Alright, I’m driving, can’t talk. I’ll be at your place soon. Open the door, clean up, and get ready for me.”
“What? You’re coming over?” Liu Jingye was startled.
“What’s with the fuss? Not happy to see me, or hiding something?” Yuan Xiaoying was sharp. “I’ll be there soon. If I find anything, you’ll be sorry!”
With that, she hung up, and Liu Jingye heard the engine roar.
He broke out in a cold sweat, quickly ended the call, and hurried back inside. By now, the woman had tied up her hair, taken off her shoes, and was about to undress.
“What are you doing?” Liu Jingye asked quickly.
“Taking a shower,” she replied. “Aren’t you going to try my work? Or do you prefer it ‘au naturel’?”
Liu Jingye sweated profusely. Realizing Yuan Xiaoying was about to arrive, he lost all interest. Though men may love to play, they always know what’s most important.
He recalled a story he'd once heard: a man on his deathbed received a visit from both his lover and his wife. With the lover, he reminisced about their passionate, pure love—a love of true soulmates. Yet all the lover received was love. With his wife, there was no such sentimentality; he simply left her all his belongings and said, “I’m sorry.”
Liu Jingye didn’t know what kind of man he would become, but he knew his priorities, and who mattered most.
So he said to the woman before him, “Miss, I think there’s been a misunderstanding. I do need to hire someone, but the work is just washing bed linens.”
“What? You want me to do laundry?” The woman immediately flared up, snapping, “Why didn’t you say so sooner? What do you take me for? I may be in this line, but I have my own standards—I sell my body, not my skills. What do you think I am?”
Liu Jingye scratched his head and muttered, “A laundry lady?”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Are you mocking me?” she raged, looking ready to fight.
At that moment, the door was kicked open and a figure burst in, barking, “Nobody move! I’m a police officer—move and I’ll shoot! All men to the left, women to the right, legs apart, hands on your head…”
The woman instantly complied, exclaiming, “There are police here too?”
Liu Jingye looked over—it was Yuan Xiaoying, brandishing her badge in one hand and a gun in the other. Even out of uniform, she radiated authority—though mostly thanks to the gun.
“You, stand up,” she said, gesturing with her weapon for Liu Jingye to step forward.
He sighed, resigned, and shuffled over, placing his hands on his head. Yuan Xiaoying rolled her eyes and strode behind the woman, openly surveying her seductive figure and explosive curves, her gaze blazing with envy and resentment.
She put away her badge and patted the woman down, finding nothing. Liu Jingye noticed she couldn’t resist a quick squeeze of those “basketballs,” then sneered dismissively.
“What are you doing here?” Yuan Xiaoying asked coldly.
Nervous, the woman blurted out, “I’m here for a trial run.”
A trial run? As a seasoned policewoman, Yuan Xiaoying had participated in many vice raids and instantly understood the implication. Liu Jingye could feel the murderous intent radiating from her—the gun pressed straight to the woman’s head. “Selling yourself in broad daylight…”
“No, no, officer, you’ve got it wrong. I’m here to apply for a laundry job!” the woman cried in panic.
“Laundry?” Yuan Xiaoying turned to glare at Liu Jingye.
“Yes,” he replied with a wry smile. “Tourist season is coming, and I need someone to help wash the linens and keep the inn clean.”
“Really?” Yuan Xiaoying was still suspicious; the woman’s appearance screamed “working girl.”
“It’s true,” the woman insisted. “I’m great at laundry—I used to work at a laundromat. They called me the Washing Machine!”
Liu Jingye struggled to keep from laughing. Yuan Xiaoying scanned the room—nothing seemed amiss. Only then did she lower her gun.
Of course, she would never allow such a young, seductive woman to work at Liu Jingye’s inn. She declared, “That’s enough. You failed the interview. You can go.”
“Huh? Why?” the woman asked. “Since when do the police do interviews?”
“I’m not just the police—I’m also the landlady here. You can go now.” Yuan Xiaoying hustled her out, muttering, “Watch your step; the road’s slippery and you might fall.”
She said it with a sneer, shooting the woman a look of utter disdain.
“If you so much as look at her again, I’ll gouge out your eyeballs and use them for marbles!” Yuan Xiaoying snarled, catching Liu Jingye’s lingering gaze.
He hurriedly looked away, focusing on her beautiful face. In terms of looks, Yuan Xiaoying was a rare beauty. At his current stage, Liu Jingye couldn’t tell women apart by face, but as men grow, their tastes evolve: they start to notice figures, then later appreciate gentle personalities and kindness.
He smiled at Yuan Xiaoying. “Why are you so angry? Just because she’s bigger than you?”
“So what if she is?” Yuan Xiaoying snapped.
“It’s nothing special,” Liu Jingye tried to comfort her. “You know, Asian women typically aren’t that large. Extra-large is rare, a genetic anomaly or artificial. But you…”
“What? Are you saying I’m too small?” Yuan Xiaoying’s hand twitched toward her gun.
“No, no!” Liu Jingye waved his hands. “I mean, at your age and with your proportions, there’s still room for growth. With a little outside stimulus—say, a boyfriend’s massage… you know, many girls go through a second growth spurt after getting a boyfriend.
And I’d be more than happy to serve you. Please, give me a chance to help you grow them myself!”
