It's about to be released.

First of all, this book has gloriously flopped. I truly didn’t write it well—whether it’s the power system, the main plotline, or the quality of the side quests, everything fell apart quite thoroughly. Serializing a long novel was very different from what I imagined, and with work issues added on—back then, when I was working in the emergency CT department, my mind was constantly foggy, and I became impatient. The side quest originally planned for Wanda was something I enjoyed writing at the start; I was so happy that I’d grin on my way to work, savoring the scenes. I felt I’d captured the feel of those bizarre children’s films I had in mind.

But as I kept writing, I grew more and more irritable. I’d bitten off more than I could chew, and my abilities simply couldn’t keep up. So that side quest ended abruptly. Hyde, the fat man, was originally meant to be quite formidable, but I ended up reducing him to a clownish figure.

As for the early prison storyline, my initial intention was to create a Zero side quest, but writing it so early was jarring and led to a sharp decline in readers and subscriptions. I had to hurriedly delete and rewrite, and in the end, what was supposed to be a substantial prison arc was cut down to barely a dozen chapters, and even those weren’t well written.

Honestly, around sixty or seventy thousand words in, I considered abandoning the book—I just felt I couldn’t go on and didn’t have what it took. But then I thought, quitting only happens once, and then again and again—when will it ever stop? I decided to finish the book properly, to experience the full process of a long-term serialization. This could be an invaluable experience in my writing career.

So I persisted, slowly thinking and slowly writing. Despite how poor the writing was, at least I was trying. I chatted with the editor a lot the other day, and finally decided to put the book up for sale. That honestly surprised me; I’ve seen so many authors blocked from releasing their work. I must thank Lu for letting someone like me, a flop, go up early and earn a full attendance bonus.

I don’t recommend subscribing to this book—it’s so rubbish I don’t think it’s worth your money. You can read it for free on QQ Browser and other platforms, though there are ads.

But if you say, hey, I insist on subscribing—well, that would definitely make me happier, haha. After all, nobody says no to money.

As for future plans, I’ll speed up the pacing so I can wrap up the story at around half a million to six hundred thousand words. Since the power system is already broken, I might as well write an invincible protagonist. After it launches, updates will be steady at four or five thousand words a day—after all, I need that full attendance bonus.
