After a brief playful moment on the bed, the two tidied their bags and returned to Yun City.

Ye Xifu had been eagerly awaiting their return at home, and upon seeing them, she greeted them with a warm smile.

The instant she saw Gu Liuyun, she felt she could no longer read this young man at all; his aura was completely different from before he left.

“Your cultivation has advanced again,” Ye Xifu remarked appreciatively.

Gu Liuyun smiled without replying.

“Grandfather, this is the heavenly-grade technique that Brother Liuyun found in the secret realm!” Ye Manman knelt before Ye Xifu, presenting the scroll with both hands.

Ye Xifu was so moved she could hardly speak. Taking the technique, she finally managed a word: “Excellent… excellent…”

Then she glanced at Ye Qingqing beside her, her voice growing stern with frustration: “Look at your sister, now look at you! Useless and more harmful than helpful!”

Ye Qingqing lowered her head in shame.

“With this heavenly-grade technique, revitalizing the Ye family is just a matter of time!” Ye Xifu declared.

She handed the technique back to Ye Manman. “You must study this diligently; the future of the Ye family depends on you!”

“Thank you, Grandfather!” Ye Manman responded.

“This is unfair!” Ye Qingqing burst out, unable to hold back.

“Why does all the good stuff go to the second branch? Grandfather is too biased!”

Ye Xifu cast a cold glance at Ye Qingqing. “Have I not been biased toward you before?”

That one remark silenced Ye Qingqing completely.

Indeed, if she had not looked down on Gu Liuyun at the time, these things should have been hers.

Finally, she bowed her proud head, tears streaming down her cheeks like rain. Before Gu Liuyun, she sobbed, “Liuyun, I was wrong—I truly was! I shouldn’t have broken off our engagement. Will you forgive me?”

Gu Liuyun looked at her coldly, without a trace of mercy.

Seeing her once proud granddaughter reduced to such humility stirred a mix of emotions in Ye Xifu. She scolded sharply, “Now you realize your mistake? It’s too late! Who was it that swore Gu Liuyun was worthless? Now that he’s soaring, you want to come back? Why would he take you back?”

“Stop embarrassing yourself here. Get out!”

After driving Ye Qingqing away, Ye Xifu sighed. “You’ve made me lose face.”

“Qingqing was spoiled from childhood. Please, for my sake as an old man, don’t stoop to her level.”

Gu Liuyun shook his head. “Since my parents disappeared, you have cared for me deeply, Old Master. If I owe you a debt of gratitude, it was repaid long ago.”

“The kindness you have shown me, Liuyun, I will always remember.”

Bidding farewell to Ye Xifu, Gu Liuyun returned home.

No sooner had he stepped inside than his assistant called.

“President Gu, you finally answered,” the voice said anxiously.

“Our company’s projects have encountered consecutive problems recently. It seems someone is deliberately targeting Gu Corporation, and our losses are severe!”

“When did this start?” Gu Liuyun asked.

“Since the day before yesterday. Only you can take charge now!”

Frowning, Gu Liuyun replied, “Understood. I’ll be there immediately.”

Gu Corporation was the last legacy left by his missing parents.

He would never allow anyone to lay a hand on it.

In the Gu Corporation’s conference room, several middle-aged men sat impatiently in a circle.

They were the board members.

“How much longer are we waiting?”

“Typical young people—no reliability at all.”

“Leaving the company to such an unreliable person will only lead to bankruptcy sooner or later. We’d better replace him now!”

They whispered and grumbled among themselves.

“Third Uncle, who do you think should replace me? How about replacing me with you?” Gu Liuyun’s voice came before he appeared.

The previously loud middle-aged man deflated like a punctured balloon, his arrogance dampened.

“Third Uncle is worried, isn’t he? You disappeared for three or five days, and there’s no one to oversee the company’s affairs,” Gu Jinhe complained.

Gu Liuyun’s eyes swept across the room.

Wherever his gaze landed, everyone shifted uncomfortably, unwilling to meet his stare.

Each felt an invisible pressure bearing down on them.

“Within three days, use all your connections—by any means necessary—I want to know who’s sabotaging us.”

“Otherwise, your tenure here has been long enough.”

Having warned the old-timers, Gu Liuyun left the conference room and returned to his private office. Staring out at the flashing neon lights, he sank into thought.

Suddenly, his phone vibrated. An anonymous message appeared:

“Gu Liuyun, some matters are beyond your reach…”

Trying to intimidate him.

Gu Liuyun sneered and threw the phone onto the desk, a gleam of determination flashing in his eyes. “Let’s see who shouldn’t be meddling.”

Three days later.

Thanks to the board members’ investigation, they had narrowed the source of the recent project failures to a company called Tiancheng Group.

Gu Liuyun tapped his fingers rhythmically on the desk, the dull sound echoing in the room.

The name seemed oddly familiar.

Yet, searching through the original owner's memories, he found no connection to this company.

Could it be someone deliberately targeting him?

Holding the Tiancheng Group’s background report, Gu Liuyun said calmly, “I will meet this person personally.”

Lanxiang Nightclub.

This was the frequent haunt of Wang Tiancheng, the mastermind behind Tiancheng Group.

Just as Gu Liuyun was about to enter, a burly security guard blocked his path.

“Dressed like that and you dare come to a nightclub?” The guard sneered as he sized Gu Liuyun up and down. “Have you seen our motto? No scruffy dressers or dogs allowed!”

Gu Liuyun frowned slightly, his gaze sharp. “Step aside.”

Used to bullying others, the guard immediately drew a baton from his waist, ready to teach Gu Liuyun a lesson.

Before he could raise his hand, Gu Liuyun’s fist struck—two teeth mixed with blood flew onto the ground, and the guard collapsed limply, unconscious.

Another guard, who had been watching with amusement, was stunned. He wanted to call for help but his legs trembled uncontrollably with fear.

“You want to stop me too?” Gu Liuyun said coldly.

The guard shook his head like a rattle.

Gu Liuyun ignored him and strode into the nightclub.

Only after Gu Liuyun’s figure disappeared did the guard regain his senses and grab his walkie-talkie. “We’ve got a troublemaker!”

The pulsing music ignited the passion of scantily clad men and women, who writhed freely under the dim, flashing lights.

Wang Tiancheng, with two blonde beauties draped over him, drank with his cronies. His face flushed with drunken warmth. “Once we finish this deal, I’ll hand out the bonuses!”

“Following Brother Tiancheng really pays off!”

“Brother Tiancheng treats us so well; I’m willing to serve him for life!”

The men cheered enthusiastically.

“This must be General Manager Wang of Tiancheng Group, right?” Gu Liuyun approached Wang Tiancheng and extended his hand.
